Until JD trades him to make more room for Choo and next year's version of Pence.
Nope. Not this time unless FO wants to play ball and nothing else like winning.

I have had my shares of issues with our front office and JD in particular. There were lots of issues prior to this past year. Then this past year we have had the following.

Too many TJ pitchers in the rotation.

Didn't get rid of Choo in the offseason.

Didn't trade Minor in the offseason

Handled Calhoun wrong for the better part of the year.

Handled Odor wrong all year long, and especially in not sending him down when he still could be sent down.

Didn't trade Minor, Choo or Pence at the deadline.

I believe we had a higher draft choice not sign with us than most any other teams had.

Refused to commit to a rebuild program and instead tried to go half way in and half way out.

Is too committed to Mazara and wouldn't send him down.

If someone can think of any thing I missed please feel free to mention it.

Giving Choo that massive contract in the first place

Trading for fielder and having it blow up in our faces

Trading Kinsler to make room for Profar, which eventually led to Odor. I would’ve rather kept Kinsler the last 10 years over the garbage at 2nd base right now.

Didn’t demote odor when he was hitting under the Mendoza line this season before he accumulated 5 years of major league service time.

Demoted Calhoun and pissed him off for the 50th time when they should’ve demoted Guzman who has options and had no business being on a major league team with his bat that has holes all over it.

Brought Mathis in and Mathis has hit worse then all of us could’ve possibly imagined. I wasn’t a big chirinos fan, but Mathis has made me miss him.

Yet he can do no wrong since we don’t hear anything from ownership. I usually enjoy quiet out of the spotlight owners but I sure wish we heard more from them.

He doesn't spend much of their money so they are very satisfied. Maybe they will take their gains and sell the team, and an owner will step in who wants to build a championship team no matter what it takes or how long it takes to do it right.

It means this team will not compete for the next 3 or 4 years.
Follow the Jerry Jones model. Nice new stadium, sell a bunch of jerseys, run whole bunch of events not related to Baseball, make money repeat.

In hindsight, I guess we all should’ve rooted for the Jim crane / Mark Cuban group a long time ago.

Maybe a new combo of Greenberg and Cuban.

Picking up Pence and Calhoun were not bad moves. Signing Minor and Lynn has proven shrewd that many thought would backfire.
The rest of the budget evidently allowed money for TJ guys. Don’t like the budget but what can you do.

It’s not all negative. All sunshine and rainbows when we are competing. We don’t unload no matter what and he’s incompetent. Guess all are entitled to an opinion.

Disappointing day to most of us. With some good decisions this team can go forward.

How has signing Minor helped us to compete for a WS? How does keeping him 14 more months help in that area? It has allowed us to win a few more games each of the years he has been here and that is all. Building a championship is all that matters and that could never or never will be done in the life of Minor's contract. The same most likely could be said for the life of Lynn's contract.

There is nothing shrewd happening. Shrewdness doesn't create mediocrity it creates greatness. No greatness is being built here. Shrewdness picks up guys like Minor, Pence and Lynn in down years for the simple goal of flipping them for pieces at deadline time to help later on down the line.

David Murphy is an interesting choice in the booth. Wonder what is happening there. Liked his career here.

Big freaking deal.....

Odor owns mariner / royal pitching. Don’t feed us this “ turned it around” bullshit.

We’ve seen it before and it seems like only the front office and the broadcast team fall for it. The guy still sucks. Look at what he does against the other teams in mlb.

Haha. Maybe the good decision of the owners to sell to new ownership.

Pick up a guy like Cole in the offseason. Maybe we can catch lightning in a bottle. Flipping Minor for junk no matter what is not my opinion of what was needed.

Teams learn to win. You should have known we were not in a total rebuild when we signed Lynn but you did not like that move either. If in total rebuild then move Gallo

Trying to catch lightning in a bottle is for losers. Why don't we just invest in horseshoes and rabbit's feet and hire some witch doctors?

Believe hearing that was said when we signed them and for longer contracts instead of jds usual one year deals. Flipping them. Ether way it puts more heat on JD this off season.

Every team has a little luck to win. Injuries. Good matchups. Even a postponed game helped STL in 2011. Astros experience playing us helped them. I think more on incremental moves. Try to develop a winning culture with the resources allowed to pursue
