The young “ core” sucks.

It’s a very rocky and unpredictable foundation. The rangers have stubbornly stuck with odor when pretty much every other major league team would’ve sent him down to the minors or benched him by now.

I’m relieved that they sent down Guzman who was overmatched up here. I can’t believe some fans gave me push back for saying he should be demoted because his defense is “ great”. they should probably send down Mazara soon to recoup another year of control. Mazara always seems to skate by tho so I don’t think anything of significance happens to him. He could be floating like a turd in our lineup aimlessly for the next 5 years with his .700 - .750 corner outfield OPS.

Nor is ownership in making them, it appears. If JD’s seat ain’t simmering by now...

I think the Rangers need new ownership. Get someone that will spend money and make a commitment to winning.

I'm just shocked the Yankees were not more aggressive.

I can just imagine what some of the Yankee fans are thinking/saying right now, don't you have a few relatives who are Yankees fans?

Pretty sour day for the sell Minor no matter what market dictates advocates

Astros gave a lot but it was a win now move that may bite in the future but if they win so much the better for them and...

Since the Sox and Yanks sat on their hands it was likely over an undone deal re Minor. Pretty surprising. The haul the Dbacks got would have been nice. Yes do wonder if a projected budget for next year was a factor.

They scored a new ballpark at taxpayer expense. Texas Live and increased ticket prices. Not Mark Cuban like feeling an obligation to public...at least not verbally

Perhaps means not overpaying per ownership mandate but then some thought Beltre was an overpay. It would be good to define smart

It means they are going to try to do it on the cheap. There is not much smart about the way they are going about building a team.

There will be absolutely nothing about having Choo and Minor for another season that will get is closer to a WS, nothing. The same goes for keeping Pence.

I always wondered what JD would do to build a team without a Hamilton to trade for and a Teixeira to trade. Now I know, not much.

If Minor isn't good enough to trade, then he certainly isn't good enough to extend or to depend on.

I think Daniels really meant "Are we going to do it if it cost anything?" No. We are not going to spend anything toward that end

I think you are being generous with that time frame. More like 5 to 8 years

Seems like everytime JD has “ jumped the gun” on an extension to get a team friendly deal, it has blown up in his face.

The odor, Harrison, and holland deals are / have been total abortions. Cost cutting measures with a small market mindset, totally not paying off.

I really don’t get why big market teams like the Yankees, dodgers, and Red Sox are so reluctant to deal prospects.

They’re one of the few teams with the unique ability to throw money at most of their problems and fix them. You’d think those teams would be more aggressive......
