yeah...was what you said. But feel free to clarify if you'd like.

No.

You and other said it didn’t matter unless you get the guy.

I said being in the conversation does matter and it matters a lot. Because you at least have some chance To convince the player to sign if you can get in the room. Most franchises are never even afforded that opportunity.

I did not say that getting a meeting matters “as much as actually signing the player”.

Obviously getting the guy matters more.

That is you twisting my words to make them mean something totally different.

Kyle Korver looking at three contenders?
i_71_5d_33_kyle-korver.png

Korver — whose expiring contract could be waived for the cost of $3.4 million — will consider signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers once he clears waivers, league sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Of those 3,

Philly needs him most and is also where he fits best.

They probably have the weakest guard depth and less shooting than the other 2.

Exactly. Would prefer a front court defender with that last roster spot. Korver will turn 39 this coming season, out to pasture with your TOSB ass....

True.....getting a little greedy on 3 shooting after last season. But, we added quite a bit and I think Kuz can bounce back after adding AD and the other players we did. I think Kuz is gonna benefit a lot....

That's what I thought.....BKS said we were at 15 already.

Lakers revoked the RFA status from Williams, making him a free agent. He was seemingly in line for that 15th spot (and still may be if the Lakers can't find a better option; he's a hard worker). 2 ways are Norvell and either Cacok or Caroline (both signed exhibit 10 contracts for summer league that can be converted to 2 way deals).

what was also me was seeing those were not your words and apologizing in an earlier post. ....but you did imply it mattered a lot (you really think that's "totally different"?). On that I disagree unless you are consistently getting the ones you go after and not missing out on all but 1. Including hometown guys.

And made 38.4% of his 3's last season.....he'd be a good addition to any of the 3 teams he's looking at.
He'd need plenty of rest on the bench.

Marreese Speights is back from China and working out for teams in Vegas this week. Not really what the Lakers need even if he does work out well.

Totally different saying it matters a lot vs. matters as much?

Yeah.

Totally different.

And getting these guys is a percentage game. You will never get every FA you pitch. But, the more you have the opportunity to pitch, the more you eventually get. Which is why I do think it matters a lot to be in the conversation. Which, the Lakers seem to often be.

Because even if the Lakers get 1-10 elite FAs they are in the room with, that works out a lot better than any of these teams:

Milwaukee
Minnesota
Charlotte
Detroit
Washington
Indiana
Sacramento
Memphis
Utah

Among others who get 0-0
