Nothing wrong with being wrong. Maybe just tap the brakes instead of going 150mph all out and being so sure you were right in the first place?

What’s the fun in that?

$107 mil of the contract is guaranteed and since it is for 4 years I am not sure how backloaded this contract can be.
So the SB will be part of the $107M but it will be split over the first 5 years including the 2 existing years. It doesn't get split over the new 4 years. The may also do something to guarantee the next couple of years salaries to get to 107. We'll know when the dollars come out how they structure it. This deal will be different than some of the others because of the existing cap hit for the current year and the huge SB. So it won't be as skewed as the last few I would think but the base salary will certainly be higher in the last couple of years, don't you think?

My guess is he cap hit is going to be $32 per year. Mirroring the way Rodgers and Wilson's contracts are structured.

You think? The more i think about it the more I think both sides just say what are we wasting our time on. Let's do the same deal.

I think this is exactly what was expected for Wentz in dollars per year. Although $107M for an injury prone QB could be devastating. I would have thought around $80M guaranteed. Hope Dak doesn't get near $100M guaranteed.
I wanted Dak signed before RW, so he'd get be in the 25 to 27M range. After RW signed I was hoping he'd be in the 28 to 30M range, now I easily see him on the plus side of 32M.

If Dak signs for 32 it won't be at the expense of two players, 1 maybe but not 2.

For sure but its likely one of those two and given our history, it will probably be Zeke that ends up with the short straw.

I just cant see how the Cowboys will pay Dak the same kind of money that Rusell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers gets. A deal over $32 mil a year puts him in that range.

You’re the one and many many others who can’t admit when they’re wrong. I can list many times I was wrong. Can you?
Of course you can list many times you were wrong. It's a daily occurence. So your falling on your sword routine is lame.

I, like others you accuse of being wrong don't have a problem admitting when we're wrong. It's just not near as frequently as you.

But they aren't. It's seldom even and especially when teams are pushing up on the cap.
Russell Wilson
Aaron Rodgers

If Wentz gets an $80M SB his cap hit this year will be $24.5M. The good news is if he gets a SB that huge then you are right that there isn't a ton of salary left to pay I guess. I'd say he gets more like a $60M SB (maybe a little less?) and his 2019 cap hit would then be about $20.5M. They can't move his 2019 salary any lower since he only makes $720K salary this year and the rest is what's left of roster and SB and you can't mess with that. They probably convert next years salary of $22M to lower that base salary and split that over 5 years too I would guess because if you add one fifth of a SB to that number it goes way over $30M and I think they try to avoid that. They may also structure it today knowing that they will restructure it again soon. So maybe leave the $22M for now in 2020 but this time next year convert it to a roster bonus to push next years cap number way down?

 What has Wentz did to deserve an extension???

Carson Wentz is an elite talent and that is pretty much accepted across the board. However.........he is injury prone and that is where the big concern is. If he he can stay healthy he is worth the deal.

I don't think there was much chance it was going to be under $30M once RW signed, but I was holding out hope that Dallas played it like I said I would have (not that anyone would ever ask) and told him they were comfortable letting it play out and he blinked and took the discounted guarantee $'s now. $32M today isn't much less than a$36M next year so I would have waited. Time to pay the man and move on now

Since his new deal is an extension 2019 and 2020 are probably untouchable. I am pretty sure 2019 is because I think the first 4 years of a rookie deal can't be altered. 2020 was an option and I believe once they picked up the option that salary became fully guaranteed. I have to plead ignorance on signing bonuses for extensions. I don't know how that is applied since the first year of that particular deal is a couple years away.

Is there a point? Jared Goff is probably going to get the same money. What has he done? Please don't say he led the Rams to the Superbowl because he played like shit in the playoffs. They got there in spite of him.
