Character means something, but it’s not like he’s beating women. He got caught once and he’s one of the best in the business. Some team will get an elite corner for 2 - 4 years.

According to local media, Peterson went to the cards a month ago asking them to restructure his deal to reduce the impact of the money lost due to the imminent suspension.

The NFL rules do not allow that. The reason it worked for Brady was because they added years on to his deal. Peterson did not want years added on because he wanted to hit free agency and get paid.

How many players and who gets cut to afford him? NE already has Gilmore at top $. The D was great at the end of the season. BB taking over the D this year, they've already improved the D with Bennett (though I'm not a fan of him), the Draft, returning players like Bentley from IR and Collins from Cleveland.

Considering he'll miss at least those six games I still say no thanks. NE continually finds ways of winning without the "best" players. I like what NE has on D and no need to mortgage the farm for 1.5 year rental.
If this was next season I might think about it as that will be time for BB to let Gilmore go.
