I believe NO! Holiday, Zion and Holiday in one young team? If the Pelicans F.O. works "smart" this season, they'll be after the title at the 2021 playoffs... Bucks vs. Pelicans in the finals of 2021... what a final this would be!

LOL

He's gone. But the Pels just got a lot better deal for him tonight .

If they're smart they trade him pre-draft so they make sure they get who they want at 3 or 4.

My guess is AD to LA for the 4 and 2 of 3 of Kuzma , Ingram and Ball. A starting 4 of

Holiday
Garland
Ingram
Randle
Zion

With Kuzma as your first guy off the bench ?

Thats a good team

They'd win 35-38 games in the WC.

Yep, looks like N.O. isnt interested in Ball.

Kuzma, Ingram, the #4 and fillers.

The Pelicans get Zion to “replace” AD and get another top 5 pick along with two young players.

This couldnt have worked out any better for the Pelicans. Wow.

Holiday
Culver
Ingram
Randle
Zion

6th man Kuz

I think Garland is more of a PG

He's a real combo that can knock down 3s which is why I think they'd take him but Culver is really good too .

I think the Pels would love to get Barrett but I just don't see what the Knicks can give for AD thats as good as Ingram and Kuzma.

NY can give NOLA the one thing that could make Zion more optimistic about playing for that franchise.

The chance to draft Barrett.

Plus, Davis would be out of the West.

#3, Knox, DSJ * insert any player/picks *

Reason I asked is if they can get reasonably close to the Lakers you gotta think the Pelicans would rather have him in the east

I think the Lakers young talent is BETTER.

But, agree about getting him out of the East.

Plus, Zion would get to play with RJ.

I'd say the chances went up that he could stay. I don't doubt Griffin's ability to pitch him on a vision going forward. But those odds went up from 0% to like 10%. So he's gone.

In terms of what Zion might want...

How about a chance to play with Jayson Tatum?... a fellow Dookie.

The draft last night solidified the fact that no team out there has a central bargaining chip better than what Boston can offer... Boston still has a great package to surround the centerpiece of Tatum with, too.

AD is not stupid... He now knows that the Pelicans can be contenders for the title with this roster and a coach with excellent basketball IQ... All the Pelicans have to do now is to add a PG (Kemba?) that makes justice to the rest of the roster and are all set to compete for the title...

AD also knows that it's best for him not to "jump ships" often, but rather stay with a team and link his name with greatness for all his career. Only reason that AD asked to be traded, was that he felt he could not compete for the title... now he can!

AD also knows that the Pelicans have unexpectedly turned to "highly wanted destination" for FAs and players wanting to be traded...

90% he is staying with the Pelicans... It's what his manager will be advising him, it's what his coach will be asking and will be "all over him" as to convince him, it's what the F.O. of the Pelicans will be putting all its power to achieve...

I doubt LeBron is advising him to stay in N.O.

I believe he will be... I believe he is the one that advised Bledsoe to resign with the Bucks as well and that it was him that advised AD to have the Bucks among his (few) preferred destinations last season... Now he will advise him to stay with the Pelicans.

This gives the Pelicans no security whatsoever though. Even with Zion and Davis the Pelicans are a stretch to make the playoffs let alone compete. In two or three years they might be great around those two but if Davis leaves next summer anyway it's just pointless.

They have to trade him. There's really no alternative.

Too many bridges burned. Davis needs out of NOLA and they need to move on. Drafting Zion makes it so much easier to part ways.

Ship his ass off to Atlanta or Chicago

Lets face it... This lottery turned the Pelicans to a "highly desired destination" for FAs... Griffin knows that and has the cap space to be "all over" Kemba or Kyrie this season, giving them the salary and the opportunity to compete...

Why would AD wanting to leave after Griifin does sign a PG? Isn't it obvious to AD that a Kemba, Holiday, Zion, Randle, AD line up would "blow" todays GSW and could create an outstanding team that could survive NBA's history for ever written with "Golden letters" on the wall?

Where AD can find an opportunity like that elsewhere? Him leaving now, would obviously be the most stupid thing to do and I doubt AD is stupid...

I was thinking about this, you know, with Magic leaving. Was Magic the reason the deal never happened? He basically offered the entire team, pretty unprofessional.
