i disagree with your comparisons. Allen will at least block shots. Gortat of Monroe at this point? They're not slowing down Embiid in any form and would weaken the overall defense. I do feel like Gortat had a nice 18 footer that was annoying. If I'm the Nets I would tell Allen put on 15-20 pounds and learn how to do something outside of dunk

who is surprised Jimmy Butler got ejected in a playoff game? show of hands?
no one is surprised? no hands?
didnt think so. lol
Butler is a very talented player but i would never pay him market value to be on my team.Butler losing his cool somehow makes Dudley's idiocy ok in your head. Butler keeps his cool and it is a flagrant one on Dudley and ball to Philly. But somehow you think that is an acceptable action by Dudley because he's got to keep it real.

Neither should have been ejected. In fact, that whole situation was overblown. Embiid was nothing more than a hard foul (he got ball). Neither Dudley nor Butler should have had anything more than technicals.

If I could get him for 20M a year? absolutely i take him--
but at the 4/140 (at the least) he is going to command? HELL NO. especially with him being 30 at the beginning of next season with a bunch of Thibs Miles on him.
I think Dudley should have been ejected.
He shoved Embiid to escalate the whole thing, then pulled Simmons into the stands tackling him.
Every call was exaggerated a bit because the officials needed to take control of an increasingly chippy series. They easily could have just called double Ts and kept playing, but they clearly wanted to put everybody on notice before things got more out of hand.
After seeing further replays, the flagrant was soft, but I have no issue with the ejections given everything that was going on.
I’d like to see Dudley suspended a game. His comments about wishing he hit Embiid harder indicate he’s a complete clown that is likely to do stupid shit again. I’d really prefer to not have an idiot out there looking to take a cheap shot at Embiid.
I think that is a fair point.
But at the same time, Butler and Embiid pretty much said that they will do the exact same thing next time it goes down like this too.
So if Dudley does get suspended, so does Butler.
In that lense, I don't think either should be suspended.
But expect a short leash on all the primary players in this drama for game 5. Simmons included.
And Brett Brown had better be in his players' ear telling them to be above the physical stuff. Because if game 5 is going Philly's way, guess what Dudley is going to do? A similar response could get one or two of the Philly stars a seat on the pine for the next game, which could be devastating.
The thing is, the league takes a dim view on instigators going after stars. Dudley went after the Sixers top 2 stars on the same play. His going after Embiid is one thing. It could be reasonably thought that he was just defending his guy. But his attempts to draw Simmons into a physical confrontation were completely cynical.
I suspect that the league office has made it clear that they will have little tolerance for Dudley, or anyone else, instigating a fight in this match.
Gotta disagree a bit here. Dudley pushed Embiid (although not that hard), then Butler came up and pushed Dudley. I didn't really catch Dudley grabbing Simmons and pulling him down with him, but it's not like Simmons was standing innocently outside the fray and got dragged in.
