Holy shit, 16.0 Robertson (2 IP) in to hold a 6 run edge. Scary.

That was the right thing to bring him in the very next game, and such a good thing it was on a situation with a game not so close.

He looked sharp in that inning of work. Anyone was likely giving Poland’s the base last night (props to Polanco on the cycle, he is impressive). Other than that Robertson looked good. It was a great and effective opportunity for some confidence building.

I am intrigued by this match up. I do not really think the Twins are as good as the 4-1 start. We should be able to make some things happen, especially when getting into their pen.
Twins predictions are 84-87 wins. We are supposed to be slightly better than average. I dont expect to shock the world this year but baseball is baseball. My own opinion is we are right around a .500 team. To many holes in our rotation and no legit closer.

Gotta love putting up 10 runs in that weather. Especially without a HR. Sure, take away the Twins errors and it’s less....but it’s still 7-8 runs scored without any HR.

Gotta love how they worked pitch counts all night.

Gotta love how Franco’s OPS is currently 1.537 from the 8th spot. This is the good Big Maik we’ve seen in spurts before. Both he and Odubel have had these runs before, and then maddeningly cooled off just as fast. I am so hoping to see that those consistency issues in the past have been heavily influenced by chemistry and this year could show more consistency.

Gotta love Bryce Hustle taking home with some really aggressive base running. While I pretty much knew this about him I’ve not paid enough attention in the past....but he is a really smart ball player. Heads up play there. I also liked one of his at bats with the right shift on being addressed with a feign to bunt down to third. Hit it where they ain’t.....I hope we get real aggressive with such counter tactics against such fads all year.

I like the Twins....always have. Probably because they used to spring train in Orlando when I was a kid. They also had a pretty good AAA squad (the O-Twins!!) back then.

I like the offense that they have. Polanco is fantastic. I do agree on the pitching, though the rotation seems decent. The bullpen feels less so though. And if I were to go by last nights sample (probably not fair with the weather) the fit and finish on fielding is not so hot.

Still...they have a hungry young manager and and some nice pieces. .500 team easily. Upside of challenging for one of the wild cards with 86-87 wins.

Zack Eflin gets the start today. He pitched 5 shutout innings and struck out 9 in his 1st outing. I am hoping that this is
the new and improved Eflin. He has been prone to giving up the long ball in the past. However, striking out 9 batters in 5 innings may be a hint that he is ready to make his mark this season! GO PHILLIES!

Yep, love the 5-1 start as we remain in rarefied air with the second-best league W-L record. I am warming-up to the notion that this team and its present line-up may be pretty stout and sustaining for quite sometime into the near future. I remain cautious though and I know with that admission, jvett is shaking his head.

Jump right in with your full confidence! Six games are plenty to predict how good this ream will be as we know from past experience. :pound:
