According to Sources, Jay Gruden not Being Consulted on Redskins Offseason Moves

Un named sources are garbage but if true it’s a lousey thing to do . If you don’t want the guy fire him

If it is true why are you even surprised? This is not a normal organization. They are cocky & they do as they please (by "they" I mainly mean Snyder & Allen). I am almost past the pt of getting pissed at this type of thing (if true) - it is just consistent with their history. I will always be a fan of the team, but I look at crap like this now & think "whatever".

BTW - making moves like this doesn't necessarily mean that Snyder & Co. don't want Gruden around. If this stuff is true it might just mean that they want a puppet as coach (just like the Boys).

If coaches can choose players who they want etc etc then coaches are coaches/gm

I've been thinking this for a while, but just didn't want to say it. I think the main goal right now is to build a dominant defense in order to attract Gregg or Todd next year.

The dysfunction goes without saying. Doug bringing in AP behind Bruce's back, which probably saved Jay and Bruce's job. Without AP last year, that team wins 4 games.

Bruce telling Doug not to answer his phone on the Smith deal

Now this.

The coach doesn't necessarily have to choose the players in this situation, but he should have some input & certainly be aware of any moves before they are made.

Although I am not supporting the FO, I have been saying for sometime now that if left up to me I would go heavy on defense because that is where most of your talent is. It is going to take longer to build the offense.

I don't have anything against Collins, I think he is a solid player but when I saw the multiple posts on Facebook and that Dan was giving Collins a Sean Taylor signed jersey I felt like it was the old Dan. We will see Landon bowling with Dan or up in his office smoking a cigar soon.

Seriously? You could argue for or against the Collins deal & have a valid argument. However labeling the AP deal as bad is a reach. The guy just had a stellar season that was often behind a patchwork line. I realize that he is past the prime RB age, but he is always in great shape & I think a few more years of productivity are very possible. His contract is very small & the worst case situation would involve minimal dead cap money.

Those other RBs are all kind of so so & relied on the other RB to help carry the load. They are far from sure things.

I posted the thing for the GIF . I don’t have issues with the signings . Some prefer Coleman and Ingram over. AD . For the role we want I think he is fine . I like LC as well . The contract is a good one

LOL. This was not directed at you but rather the writer/blogger. Another example of how most Redskins moves are blasted by the media - even when they are not that bad. If another team signed AP for even more money a lot of the media probably would have declared the move as brilliant. Whatever.

If true, and I will say IF...this is a bad indication for Jay’s future in WAS.

IF true, perhaps the Skins have something working with Nick Saban, that nobody knows about. Maybe, all the Alabama players we’ve drafted and signed via FA recently is a sign of things to come. Nick either wins his 7th Championship at BAMA next season and passes The Bear, or he gets his ass kicked again in the playoffs…either way, he’s gone after next season…or, is he?

And, “IF ifs and buts were candy and nuts” we would all be happy Redskins fans.

I cannot remember the presser, but Gruden has mentioned his desire to have better communication between the front office and coaches. Maybe he remembers that there was a concerted effort not to communicate with former GM McCloughan just before he was dismissed. Given what's know about Gruden's previous statements on the subject and this report, I'd have to admit that there's a lot of consistency between the two.

No way in hell is Saban leaving Alabama unless it is for retirement. He is king there & I don't think that he has any desire to coach in the NFL at this time.

At Nick's age he would be silly to leave Bama. His last experience in the NFL wasn't all that great. :nono:

Oh Russell probably has some guy sitting on a bar stool somewhere that is his unnamed source. Maybe Otis from Mayberry.
