Why would salary matter in this?

You get much of TT's career he played with Kyrie, Love and that Lebron fellow? Might keep his scoring down a bit.

Beyond easy? Usual hyperbole.

Love, Nance and now TT.

This is how you earn that homer rep.

If you agree with everything Wiggy says about the Cavs, you are homer.

He got traded because he called out Dr Buss about getting paid.....

#Fact

This is bullshit! I don't care if you're a lifelong Lakers fan & live in Cali. You don't know what you're talking about. I think that fella from Ohio's right on about the Shaq/Kobe bromance gone bad.

He was referring to Kobe taking the torch & becoming the franchise player. Things like, Kobe's work ethic (which he tried to help Shaq with) & the undeniable fact that Kobe had developed into a franchise player while playing with Shaq.

Shaq wanted to be paid, demanded it actually during a game, and ASKED to be traded when he didn't get what he wanted. Dr. Buss bet on the younger, more dedicated to his craft player, which was Kobe. Please get your facts together when posting on a sports forum...more specifically a basketball forum. SMH
Ok, like a kid you ask and ask and ask. come on back.

Ok, if this is true I was taken in by the headlines (not that I've seen proof to back this). LA didn't want to pay a 31-year-old Shaq?

But good on Phillip for being able to win with arguably the best player in the game (maybe the 2 best).

I get not in you to admit a gaffe but, in fact, I did not agree with wiggy and said so. I told him I thought he was off calling Bam a poor man's TT.

Saying TT is better than Bam and certainly is not clearly the lesser player would make me a homer?
That's kooky talk if you believe that.

That 5X All star and one of the few guys capable of 20-10 and hitting 3s is better than Klay or that he's better than Green (which he is) is so out of line)?

I could see maybe Nance, but he could certainly do what the current Green has been doing.

This reasoning is certainly sound as Curry is higher than most might think and maybe because he guards lesser players at times.

Can't say I've heard many coaches speak about Klay's D (not saying you are lying, just not something I recall). It's mostly fans and "experts" who I hear prop up his D.

Well, you can watch him.

It is pretty obvious to the trained eye. He is almost always in good position, moves his feet well, and uses his length to get really strong contests on most shot attempts.

If you want to teach your kid how to be a good perimeter defender, watch Klay Thompson. His fundamentals are impeccable.

Of course, playing for Tony Bennett in college will do that for anybody.

Did LeBron hurt his stats?

Yes.

But the main difference is that now the Cavs are terrible again. So TT is asked to do more.

I guarantee his numbers come back down next year playing alongside Love.

Also, big difference between meaningful game stats vs garbage stats.
Bam has been pretty huge for us lately in a lot of games. Confidence growing daily.
TT is what he is, and it's nothing special.

Thing is, they aren't alike at all on the offensive end. It is a bad comparison. It is the type of comparison somebody makes who hasn't seen Bam play and is guessing by looking at the stat sheet.

Is Bam better today?

No. TT is an established vet with a ring and 4 Finals trips.

But to say Bam is a poor man's TT is way underselling Bam's potential.

And if you take the Cleveland side of things in every debate regarding Cleveland, you are a homer.

Ah the old eye test when the metrics fail you.

First, I don't necessarily believe the metrics and said I think he's a good defender. Probably very good. One of the better at on ball defense.

Plus, in 3 games he held Harden to poor shooting nights. so that does it. I kid....I kid.

wow are you struggling here. Please read this as many times as it takes to sink in. No need to admit your gaffe as I know it is not in you.

I told wiggy I thought he was wrong calling Bam a poor man's TT and said as much.

Just an FYI...most Cleveland fans don't think any more highly of Love than non Cleveland fans.

Metrics aren't failing anybody.

You watch Klay Thompson play for 10 minutes in a game where the team is trying and it is obvious he is an elite defender.

You and your "gaffes".

You said it wasn't a crazy claim and you were supporting TT. I can pull up some of those posts if you like.

Because at best you were straddling both sides of the fence there.

You saying he spends a lot of time not trying is the reason he is below avg. in nearly every metric created by guys who know more than we do?

I don't think it was crazy, but clearly I disagreed with him. I don't think it's crazy to think Bam is better right now (not just down the road), but I disagree with it.

@WiggyRuss

Assuming all things equal.

TT gets paid what annually next contract?
I know you didn't ask me but I'll take a swing. Assuming healthy next season and as productive as he was when he played this year I'll say something along the lines of 3 years, 35-40 mil though really hard to say. He's had his big deal so he might decide to take less to play for a title contender.
