Damn. No KD for the Dubs tonight in Houston. Apparently his ankle that got tweaked in Sunday’s loss to Phoenix still isn't good to go.

Oh Well.

Houston beat the dubs without Harden in Oracle. Sure the dubs want to return the favor tonight without their best player

Just watched the Dream Team documentary again, Chuck was lean and athletic in his prime and most of his career

Dream Team was '92. Chuck played up through '99/'00. The round mound of rebound always had a bit of a gut at least.

That's my point. Not always. Not until the last few years.

He wasn't in the best shape early on coming out of Auburn either. Moses Malone helped him improve his conditioning and manage his weight. Or in high school either, based on this quote...an assistant to Auburn's head coach, Sonny Smith, was at the game and reported seeing, "a fat guy... who can play like the wind".

Gotta say I hate Kobe....but I think he's starting to grow on me a bit. I always hated him because mostly he was a Laker god and Laker fans always let us Warriors fans know how dog shit our team was. But I also didn't care for him either because I thought he was selfish, egotistical and a shit teammate overall. However I always respected him and his greatness for what he did on the basketball court. I've never denied that, just simply didn't like Kobe for Kobe.

But the more I watch interviews and hear him speak on the game itself, it dawns on me that not only was he a fierce competitor but he was a real savant of the game. I just watched this interview he did with A-Rod and there's some tidbits in there that really caught my eye.

This first video he talks about his pre-game prep and how it varied individually based on who he was playing. He would take more shots pre-game depending on what the scheme against him would be. He talked about KD being the hardest person to guard, but he's sitting there breaking down his moves by actually counting the seconds until KD makes his moves trying to get a jump on him.

This one talks about his demands of teammates and where it stands. I understand him much better on where he was coming from in dealing with those teammates and having those demands.

I actually think based on the way he talks about the game, I would love for him to be an analyst in some capacity in the future. He could be the NBA's version of Tony Romo on a game call.

Derrick White is the gift that keeps on giving.

It will be a real shame if he doesnt make at least 2nd team NBA all-defense and get some Most Improved Player votes.

He might even be better at defense than Murray at this point. And that is saying something.

The Spurs seem unable to stop anyone when he doesnt play.

11-1 in last 12 games he started.

I am not even sure what they should do once Murray comes back.

Dejounte Murray or Derrick White...... great problem to have finally have in SA.

I think they start White, Murray and DeRozan.

All 3 can handle the ball and create and honestly I think Murray and White are both capable of playing on or off ball.

Some athletes are dumb, maybe most are. Kobe was never that. Might be one of the smartest to ever play.
