No one does. Even if you execute your gameplan perfectly and manage to limit their starting 5 to reasonable numbers, they still got that guy named Iguodala who can drop 20 on you when necessary.
No he hasn't scored 20 in years, that's not it
Some teams do match up with the Ws like Boston and Houston

That all seems to be true. But the Cavs were a 34 win team (like LA) before he came back and they made the moves necessary to make the jump to the Finals. Sure, one of those involved winning the lottery and moving Wiggins in the deal for Love, but they also had other assets they could move in that deal like future extra 1st rounders.

In addition, they made the right moves during the season as they didn't have the best start. And still had the necessary assets to do this with even more picks to use. At one point Lebron sat himself for 8-9 games as he was not 100% and they went something like 0-8 or 1-8 when he was out leading to a 20-21 record (going by memory). Was LA this bad without Lebron? Were they below .500 when he returned?

But their FO knew what kind of pieces they needed around Lebron and were able to right the ship and go to the Finals.

Lakers look like they'll be lucky to add 3-5 wins to last year's total.

I agree and that's my point.

When he returned to the Cavs, they had Kyrie playing at an all star level and a trade to add Love was already in the works, that's why they couldn't sign Wiggins after they drafted him. Who did the Lakers have that was playing at an all star level?

The only assets the Lakers had to improve the team via trade was some really young players with potential and some future draft picks. That's why, once they didn't get a 2nd max guy, it became about next year.

We know they tried to improve the team with the AD debacle, but as @TurnUpTheHeat points out, we don't know if there were any other conversations with other teams that ended in a phone call or 2.

The Lakers (and Lebron) knew that at some point, they were going to have to try to add shooting, that's what the trades for Bullock and Muscala were about. Even then, they traded for guys on expiring deals to preserve their cap space.

Wait what????? At least we don't kill someone for wearing the wrong jersey like LA does. That philly fan shit is old and tired. Every east coast fan base is acts the same way.

Booing Santa is worse. Think of the children. lol

He did against the Lakers this year.

They aren't good enough shooters or experienced enough players for it to matter a whole lot, but the Lakers kids actually match up fairly well because they are long and athletic which the Warriors struggle with at times.

You mean moves we learn about from unnamed sources don't often come to fruition? Who knew?

I kid....I kid.

lol

I'm not even talking about unnamed sources. I'm talking about inquiries that don't even get that far.

If a conversation actually makes it far enough to have unnamed sources, the discussion was likely at least semi-serious.

Agree 100%. Didn't happen further back than the river catching on fire here but no doubt meaningless today.

And agree most fanbases have fans who do things like this.

I get what you were saying. was just tongue in cheek.

wont get into another long debate but we are learning again with the NFL Only point is this......teams don't want it to get out there about players who MIGHT be traded. Kind of awkward if they aren't.

Ask the Lakers.

Hate that shit and the fans that do it.

Ruins the game. I used to take my kids to a few Dodgers games every year. But when the McCourts owned the team, they cut way back on security as a cost saving measure and things got so bad, we quit going until they sold the team.

Agree 100%.

That's why Klutch never should have gone public with the trade. I don't know what AD's relationship was with the Pels, I've never heard that it wasn't good.

Assuming it was, it ruined his relationship with them and his teammates and it destroyed the chemistry that the Lakers had.

Cavs played hard last night, but their team D is horrendous.

I really haven't followed the Cavs much this year.
I had no idea I would see Brandon Knight.

And, what's up with iron man/ professional at it's finest Tristan?

Tristan is busy looking for his next baby mama to cheat on.

Agreed, when the Lakers were riding high and the 4th seed I figured they were one of the teams that could at least challenge the Ws a bit, along with OKC and Houston

And yes I did forget that Iggy game vs LA

If Jeanie is truly running the Lakers like her Dad, that is exactly what will happen.

Dr. Buss was always good about hiring the best basketball people and letting them do their jobs...but there was never any doubt about who was running the show.

If he didn't like what was happening, he'd step in, shut it down and get folks back on the same page.
Serious question for Lakers fans....

@shopson67 , @DJ , @ChiefsLakers67 , @Kold , @Shaqdaddy11 , @wildturkey , @OutlawImmortal ....

If the Lakers do their due diligence this Summer and find out that these guys would have interest in playing together and would consider the Lakers if they didn't have LeBron ....

Do the Lakers have a Shark that would be willing to deal LeBron if it meant you can sign two of the following....

Durant, Kyrie, Kawhi.

I'm not talking Vuvecic and Butler.

But, a real big 2?

Again: IF these things are true about the youngins wanting out and the free agents not wanting to play caddy.

Fyi - These are not old articles. They are from the last 3 days.

“I do not,” Wright said when asked if he believes Leonard would have interest in playing with James on the Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective Podcast. “That’s just what I’ve been told. It’s what I’ve been told going back to last summer. I don’t see that as something that’s happening.

RUMOR: The Possibility Of Kawhi Leonard Joining LeBron James

Brandon Ingram was here before all the mess, but he has to deal with it just like the rest. For him, it may be more than he can handle.

In a report by ESPN’s Stephen a Smith, Ingram apparently wants out.

“You’re hearing noise now that Brandon Ingram is not happy and that his father is talking to folks…”

"I was talking to some people who were with 'Team Free Agent', I mean 'Team LeBron' at All-Star, and they said that Kyrie and KD were like a middle school couple that weekend. Eating together. ... Doing drills together at practice. 'I'll rebound for you. You rebound for me. I'll post you up. You post me up.' They were eating together. They went to Miami together after the weekend."

Honest answer is I hope so, but I don't know.

If it were me, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Even without the AD debacle, we're talking about guys who are in their prime vs. a guy who, while still arguably the best player when he's healthy, is also a helluva lot closer to the end of his career than the beginning.
