I watched Prometheus again.

Does anyone like that movie besides me??

I bought a Blu Ray Alien box set.

Watched them in order. Prometheus and Covenant were stunning in their quality.

I like them all, even 3 and 4. If the first 2 could have the quality of 5 & 6 I'd be even happier.

How could it not be?

I had a DVD box set that had the frigging Director's Cut only. Ruined it.

If only it had better sound as they could do today.

When they first released it on VHS it seemed to sound better than the early DVDs of it.

I love brilliant, thumping sound.

It and the first Terminator were both pedal to the metal movies once they got rolling.

Interesting take, although I've never seen the directors cut.

Gee that's my favorite Terminator movie too! :D

Captain Marvel

I actually thought it was solid. There were moments where the acting was suspect. It DEFINITELY felt like Larson was struggling (either her acting inclination or directing) with displaying emotions and I don't mean that in the sense of some feminist rendition of choosing strength over vulnerability even though there did appear to be some cases of that. It was more about overacting or underacting in the emotions that she DID show. The CGI was typical of what to expect out of Marvel, BUT there were a few scenes where I thought they probably could have done better. Jude Law was solid. Jackson was mostly solid. The biggesting issues lie in the story I feel.

All in all, solid movie. Not the best, not the worst in my opinion. Probably give it a 7/10.

Oh and I felt that some of the jokes were solid, tried and true jokes... but they fell flat due to how it either came about or was displayed in some manner. Felt like they left a lot on the table.

It also left me with a bunch of questions.

Captain Marvel (2019)

A standard solid, enjoyable MCU movie. I thought Larson was hit n miss through the movie, acting-wise. Stay for a mid and post credits scene. It does have a "girl power" aspect through the movie, and also lightly touches on another hot-button topic. This movie connects the past and future of this long story arc while doing a good job of establishing its own style with the heavy 90's nostalgia.

B+

I didn't think the 90's nostalgia was heavy enough lol. I was hoping for more.

beyond Blockbusters, radio shack, and the music I didn't think there was much honestly.. I am not considering pay phones as one nor the NIN t-shirt as Reznor continued well into the 2000's, hell he may still be going for all I know. Also, I thought the music choices were pretty fun nostalgia pieces with an exception of No Doubt being played in the main ending fight scene... I cannot stand No Doubt and THAT was the song of choice? Gimme a break... but it was in line with "girl power" stuff you were talking about.

Feel inclined to use spoilers, but what was the post credit scene... I caught the first one
the pager set up for Endgame
but I missed the next one.
