Yeah I think I read that one as well

But almost..certainly...he will be cheaper
Now than at the deadline

And that is also
A part that I do not understand with Tampa

??

This years..2 and 3 round may be as good or better than the first..(in the draft).lolol

What is it you don't understand about Tampa? My apologies but I'm unsure if it is the device you post on, but for me your posts are formatted quite strangely.

Cuz a lot of players I like well start
Around the end of the first round

Second round will be a good one

Texas would do at # 40...comp balance
And a prospect
Ahhh

They will prob wait till deadline anyway

Will be fun seeing the new guys..cant wait

And won't have to much longer

For example
Mlb prospect watch

Mike toglia..1b/ of...ucla
George kirby..RHP...elon
Chase strumpf...2b ..ucla
Erik miller...LHP...stanford

All listed by MLB..as between 40 and 50

Yeah it will change always does..
But I would like two of those guys...maybe a bit greedy..but they are in rebuild

I still hate the direction of this off season but actually am excited to see them in action in a month in Peoria. Mostly it is to see the pitching and how they decide to piece the bullpen together.

Agreed
Like to see what they have coming there

Altavilla is good...or was
Strickland was..and may be again
Gearrin seems solid
As does Bradford
I like rosscup..and have sense he was with the cubs..so I'm ready to see him as a mariners guy
Elias..i think is for sure

Tuivalala and
Swarzavk
On injury list to start
Will give some others a chance

(I think it is hard to call this team..a rebuilding one...
Until they trade E E,leake,swarzack
And maybe few more..but we will see)

I'm more of a wait and see i guess because what choice do I have. I appreciate that they finally haven given trying to build a playoff team based on a duct taped roster and luck. I would have liked some of the trades done differently but it is what it is. All i ask is that they stay the course. If you by some miracle are .500 in July don't make a stupid trade. Even at their best they were light years behind Houston, New York and Boston so its not worth it. I just hope the development system is working better

The bullpen is really up in the air at this point imo. Have really mixed feelings about the upcoming season. Part of me is anxious to see what we have and then there's a part of me that thinks watching big money Seager floundering around and watching Servais's managing is not going to have me much excited at all. Not sure what, if anything, there is to look forward to this year.

That is my biggest fear especially since Jerry can’t help but made deals. Along with our ownership isn’t exactly the brightest (it seems) and if they are in the contention around July I feel Stanton might pursade him into a win now trade.

Yea thats been the issue whenever they have tried to "rebuild" in the past. In 2009 they had that fluke 85 win year which gave all sorts of false hope. So they sign Figgins and trade for Cliff Lee who was the most obvious rental of all time. Obviously we know the rest.

The fan in me is excited to see what some of our young players will do and see if players like Jay Bruce will bounce back but the reality in me is that we will at best be in third place because Houston and Oakland are still good teams and the Angels still have the best player in baseball and lastly if players like Edwin E, Bruce, Healy, Leake, Seager etc were to have solid or good seasons they will be traded by the deadline

King Felix entering critical last season of Seattle contract

I don't understand why sports writers who want to be taken seriously keep talking about this being a contract year for Felix.

What's so fucking "critical" about it?

His success was predicated on the differential between his FB and change. Those days are clearly over. No matter how amazing his training (PED regimen) was this offseason, he's not going to be better this year.

My bet is that if he performs the same or even a little worse than last year, the M's might overpay him to stay because he's such a family night/promo draw.

Exactly.

I'm 100% in favor of a rebuild.

But I trust Dipoto maybe 1% more than I trusted Jack Z, and I trust this new ownership group about .05% more than I trusted Nintendo.

That's the problem, and that's why we're nowhere for at least another decade, IMO.

I wanna say that this is his last year in Seattle but this isn't really a Dipoto decision. Just look at the Ichiro charade that will continue this year. I am also not gonna entertain the idea that he needs to reinvent himself for the 4th straight off season. That ship has sailed, he is who he is now.

My opinion is that its a money thing in your contract year if the team doesn't want to keep you and you test the free agent market you will probably only get an average of a couple of million on a 1 or 2 year deal. This considering you were making 20+ million a year and have made hundreds of millions already, couple with the fact he would have to work in another city would make retirement a lot easier of a choice and end his career.

Well Jerry brought in a guy who has never actually coached before for the pitchers so maybe he can reinvent himself? No clue, what is honestly best for everyone is the Mariners play well enough to the deadline, then they can deal Leblanc and Leake, Felix can announce his retirement and the final two months can be a farewell tour. But realistically I think if he wants to continue playing he will have a job somewhere.

Tell me if somebody who did the following could ever reinvent themselves to something resembling a competent GM:

1. traded 2 prospects to ATL for Mallex Smith

2. then traded Mallex Smith and 2 prospects for Drew Smyly who never played game for Ms

3. then traded Zunino and Heredia for Mallex Smith.

Yes, that's right. We have GM who, over the course of 2 years, traded a bunch of prospects, Zunino, Hereida, and Mallex Smith for......Mallex Smith.

Or on top of that, lets go of most of his staff for guys who’s resume consists of showing younger players pieces of paper.
