He's been burned a few times.. strange pick...

the thing is that the defense is obviously carrying the team, but there isn't a standout player.. it's just solid all around...

If I had to pick an MVP I'd probably go with Benson.. look at his numbers in the two wins... he's been the key so far

I'd say the defense as a whole, but hard to single out one individual.

I'd pick Maualuga.....he looks at home in the middle and is making huge run stuffing plays one after another.....he's actually making plays in the hole instead of 5-7 yards downfield like Dante did.....

Wasn't much of an analysis. He simply quoted the master of coach speak. Little does he know...

As far as what Marvin said...if Marvin has your back in the media, you're likely screwing up more than not on the field.

As for Benson. The first game (Cleveland), he sucked the entire game. Half his yards came on one play at the end of the game. I would hardly credit that game to him, let alone call him any kind of MVP...unless of course you're alluding to some prison league..

He had 82 yds, then score a game clinching TD to make it 121 yds for the day.. that's just a great game...

Flaming hates Benson. He will never admit he has had some good games.

In flaming's defense, he's hard not to hate.:behindsofa:

I'd go with green for MVP on O and "insert name of D-lineman here" on D

Yea, I'm not a huge Benson fan either. But he's 6th in the NFL in rushing after 4 games. I basically give him the MVP designation by default

He is 6th in the league in rushing, he is taking the pressure off Dalton because teams still have to put extra people in the box to stop him, he is averaging 4.5 ypc which is good. I mean it's not like he has been in any more trouble than other people that have been on this team? And he is wanting the ball more, what is to hate so much?

I hear ya. He only has 1 in the stat column that matters most-TD's, which is why I went with Green.

That isn't completely his fault however. With Dalton not being great so far, they stack the line. Also the line isn't great so often times they don't get a lot of push. Also MJD and Forte only have 1 TD a piece and you don't see people hating on them.

I not sure I agree with all of this. Are teams putting extra guys in the box because they have to or because it's what you always do against a rookie QB? I've watched all 4 games and I don't think teams are stacking the box that much. Just my opinion though. Ced has had 3 great quarters. but for the first half of week 1 and all of weeks 2 and 3 he was a not very good. He sucked a big one in Denver in short yardage which completely changed the way they called short yardage plays against San Fran. Same could be said for the first half of last weeks game. He was a beast in the 2nd half. Was fun to watch. If he keeps that 4.5 YPC average I will start my own Cedric fan club web page.

How could anyone hate on Forte, he has 640 yards from scrimage. That's Bensonx2. He has 2 TD's atleast if not more.

It's not like it's just this year. Benson has never been a big TD scorer due to his struggles in short yardage.

He is getting a 1st down 23.4% of the time. That is better than AP, Forte, Turner, McFadden, Rice, Blount, Matthews. Also as pointed out he had 82 yards before that big run against Cleveland. 25 for 121 against CLE, they only ran him 16 times against DEN which is Marvs fault, he ran for a decent 3.8 against SF who has the 4th best run D in the league, and he tore up BUF. In the 2 games we have won he has gotten 100 yards. That tells me we need to run him for 100 every game.

Matt Forte has 1 rushing TD.

That would be correct. He also has atleast 1 recieving TD. I know he's on my fantasy team.

So are you saying Benson is your MVP so far?

He was dreadful in the first half of the Buffalo game, you have to admit that. He was a beast in the 2nd half. I think Ced has had about what I excpect from benson the first 4 games, minus any turnovers.

It's not the most talented player, it's the most valuable player. Benson is the most valuable so far. It shows in the fact that when he is good we win, when he is bad we lose. MVP not MTP.

Well then lets hope he has a good game tomorrow.

Thanks for the chat. I'm off to the bar to see what kind of trouble I can get into. Got to blow off some steam after a 84 hour work week.:drink:
