Not as special as throwing two picks and a 21 QBR, but still pretty special.

I simply answered your question. If you don’t think Lawrence can make throws Tua cannot — that isn’t my issue.

His size and arm strength says otherwise.

You might want to try doing a little bit of math before you blow your wad on it.

Here's what I saw, since you guys can't actually show anything he did that was great.

3rd and 14, he throws a 62 yard pass to Tee Higgins as Savion Smith(#4) just lets the guy run by him on bad coverage. He looks down the reciever the entire time, does nothing special other than hitting a wide open guy. Next play they run it in for a TD, but this was the big play on that drive from him.

Next scoring drive for Clemson. 1st play of the drive, he throws it to Higgens, but gets a PI because Savion Smith is covering. Once again he stares down the receiver the entire time.

Keep watching, as the next play he gets a 26 yard pass on a screen play, Mac Wilson takes a bad angle again.

Later on in the same drive after a few runs, 3rd and 5. 14 yard pass to Higgens because Savion Smith for some reason decides to drop man coverage on him and goes to zone. You don't even see him in the inital play because he just doesn't cover the guy. Clemson runs it in for a TD 2 plays later.

On to the next scoring drive for Clemson, lots of passing on this drive. Drive starts on their own side of the field after an interception.

2 quick passes for about 13 yards.
incomplete pass
pass behind the line of scrimmage gets tipped up high, but caught and carried a few yards.
next pass is a 26 yard pass to a wide up Amari Rodgers in the middle as guess who - Savion Smith, is a good 3 yards behind him.
Quick run up the middle for nothing, followed by a 5 yard TD shovel pass, his first TD of the night.

The score is now 28-16, almost halftime, they have 1 more drive where they go for a FG. It continues and I might go even further breaking it down. Haven't even got to the 76 yard TD pass to Ross as Savion Smith gets burned so bad he fakes an injury over it.

You see all that bolded shit? That's why I put this on Clemson's Coaches, not on the stats of a true freshman QB. I'm not cherry picking, I didn't even show his errors in the 3 and outs. You're only as strong as your weakest link and Clemson abused that fuck out of it. Good coaching, not great QB.

He’d be the #1 pick in the NFL draft right now, as an 18 or 19 year old.

If Tua was in the draft right now, he wouldn’t even be the first player drafted on his own team.

Hmmm, so posting 4 plays from an entire game isn’t cherry picking?:L

You can blame the game on whoever you’d like. Simple truth is, Clemson was the better team, had the better defense, had the better QB, had the better game plan. Bama was outplayed, outcoached and Clemson made them look as bad as Bama has looked in a decade.

The throw to Higgins for the last TD is one of the best throws I’ve seen in a while. He threw it over the LB and in between the safety and CB in the only spot his WR could make the play.

Spot on - a laser, waaaay up high.

I'm in this camp, even without Orange glasses on. I'd include several other throws during the game that TL placed the ball only where his receiver could catch it. That - to me - is the definition of throwing a receiver open.

I didn't post only 4 plays from the entire game, I posted the start of drives and then talked about them.

The drives I didn't do in the 1st half were the ones where he went 3 and out. AKA I only showed HIS GOOD PLAYS. I might do the 2nd half later when I get time.

But as I figured, you guys ain't got shit.

That's called a 50/50 ball and Clemson throws them a lot.

You think that play is good QB and not an excellent catch by Ross?

Btw, #28 is the guy who replaced Savion Smith, he was a true freshman CB. At that point in the game, both our CB's were true freshman.

A great catch and a perfect throw that the CB couldn’t make a play on. It’s possible to have a great catch and great throw. HTH.

Stepping slowly away from that hill you're willing to die on man - :D .

No way is that a 50/50 ball, but agree to disagree.

What? An over the top floating ball is a 50/50 ball no matter how you want to slice it. It was technically throw a tad bit high, but Ross makes a hell of a play catching it off a tip.

I really don't know how anyone watches that play and thinks anything other than it's a hell of a play by Ross. But hey, if people were able to think for themselves, they wouldn't need ESPN to tell them what to think.

So is this the best you guys have to offer? A 50/50 ball that was overthrown but the receiver made an excellent 1 handed tip catch off?

Seriously?

Personally I would have picked the one where Ross makes an even better 1 handed catch on the badly thrown strategically placed way behind the reciever ball.

A 50/50 ball?:L

The ONLY person who could make a play on that ball was the WR. You do know what a 50/50 ball is, right? By calling that play a 50/50 ball — my guess is no.

He is just trying to come up with more excuses now. It is entertaining to watch the president of the ‘Nick Saban fan club’ talk himself into a corner.

Then questioning other posters knowledge, while calling a throw his CB had 0% chance on and calling it a 50/50 ball.

Or complaining how Bama was starting true freshman, while a true freshman QB is throwing to a true freshman WR.

Good times. Alabama needs to get embarrassed more often — this is entertaining.
