It's an attempt to shame silence you.

I don't think anybody's trying to silence anybody.

But I think we can all agree some ideas are worthy of public shame. Now where we draw that line I'm sure we don't agree.

He said he would shut the government down and take the blame for it.

Then he did shut it down and DIDN'T take the blame for it.

Then he said he wouldn't reopen it without the wall funding.

In what world is that what anybody is calling for.

It's pretty simple. Illegal immigration is not a catastrophy or emergency. Let's work to process immigrants and asylum seekers as quickly as possible, allow those already here to stay and a path to citizenship, and encourage more immigration moving forward. Seems like a solid and reasonable solution to me.

In three brief posts I don't think you and I think anything alike (though I respect you're aware of it, at least)

Suggesting anyone fears something without evidence is an attempt to either brand them a coward to under,ine them, or, silence them from sharing the opinion yacht would get them labeled fearful.

I do, but I don't think what you suggested would do so. I'm open to wholesale amnesty, but, only at a cost- that cost being extracted on those that would be citizens. Not Americans. You don't get rewarded for breaking the law and cheating/circumventing the system.
