It will give them more experience hitting against lefties then. That is a good thing for this year isn't it?

Yes it is about development but players need to managed correctly. Need to break up the lefties. Would love it if DDJ becomes productive at the plate

I don't have a problem with the players being managed correctly at all. It just seems a little silly this year to worry too much about how many lefties are in a row in the lineup. To me this is more of a managing the lineup type decision instead of managing the players.

A lot of times guys on rehab assignments will hit lead-off so they get more at bats. It may be a terrible way to manage the lineup, but a good way to manage the player.

Then, I think even in contending years some tend to overthink putting too many lefties together in the lineup.

Mainly, I was just throwing a lineup out there to generate discussion.

Mazara hit .240, Gallo .210, Odor .257 and Guzman .208 against lefties last year and they played a majority of the games at their positions.
Agree. These guys have experience as you noted. They need to improve from either side.

You succeeded sir. I tried to soften it a bit. Just think even if our team is not a contender we should still try to win with caveat of giving players who are our future getting sufficient playing time

I also agree with that just think his suggested batting order needed to be adjusted a little

Are you sure DDJ would even make the lineup based on OPS?

Better hopes this year

Mazara hit .240, Gallo .210, Odor .257 and Guzman .208 against lefties last year and they played a majority of the games at their positions.

So Odor hit about the same and Gallo was actually better against LHPs, also .240 isn't bad for a LHH against LHPs

Guzman was in his first season against ML LHPs, so not surprising

However the quality of the RHHs should determine whether or not there's a swap, and as of right now, there's no shoe-in for a platoon, Maybe Tommy Jospeh at 1B or Heineman getting some play at a COF spot
