Bob Mckenzie has said its more likely than not the Simmonds is dealt.

Sad to see . He was a true Flyer and loyal to the brand
Having said that I totaly understand. Hopefully we can grab a 1st rounder for him

Mckenzie also said that the Flyers are in the market for a top 4 defensman. A top 6 forward and a goalie.

Said the Flyers are willing to deal prospects and draft picks to get them.

Seems like they are all over the place

Looks like it may be a very bust deadline for them
I hope so because it would make this horrible season interesting if nothing else.

I'd be kind of surprised if they try to acquire a top 4 dman, a top 9 dman, and a goalie in season. It makes a lot more sense to do that in the offseason IMO. At the deadline, the losers are looking to sell and the winners are looking to buy. In the offseason, all 31 teams are trying to put themselves in a better position to win the cup. Or, for teams who think their window is closing (Hawks, Blues, Kings), trying to shed valuable current players for future assets; which I think is the type of trade partner the Flyers would be looking for.

You think he's ready to be #1?
I do i am ready to see Hart play 65 games per year.

He is more mature than most of our veterans. He has a few things to work on but he is looking pretty solid and i think he is ready next year because he was forced up this year.

Well if you are correct, then I hope Fletcher has the smarts to bring in the help we are missing this off season, Mainly a Solid Dman and a gritty PK'er, and hopefully either Duchene or Panarin or both!

Weal to Phoenix for a 6th and an ECHL guy to clear a contract for Phoenix. Good luck to Weal there.

I liked weal, would’ve preferred him in the lineup than some others. But he wasn’t moving the needle for me too much. A 6th is about what I would’ve expected.

WARNING....one bottle down (and I don't mean beer)

So far I am reaffirmed that the Flyers should have drafted Blackwood when they had the chance.
WTF is up with FROLIN even being the lineup?
Now that Fletcher has proven that he is still alive by making a nothing deal, could he do something for real?

Oh, and yes, I would love a tandem of Blackwood and Hart. Roll them on and off.
But hey, I am an old school goalie who liked rotations.

Can someone explain to me how the Islanders are a better team than us?

You used the answer in your question. They play as a team. The players bought into Barry Trotz's system and play it. Period. If you have a group of players who will all play within a system they will out perform how they appear on paper. That was how the Flyers made the playoffs twice in recent memory. As a team they banded together and did all the little things that they needed to do defensively and played unselfish offensively. They did all of the work and they were rewarded. That isn't happening this year with a team that should be, on paper, at least as talented with more experience if not better than last years.

Not to mention they got rid of their Captain and best player. Maybe we should take a lesson.

Barzal led them in points last year. And their goalies combined for a .903 sv% and 3.42 GAA last year, compared to .921 sv% and 2.42 GAA this year.

And they hired one of the best coaches in the NHL.

But don't let that deter your narrative!

Are you saying Barzal is better than Taveras?
I am just pointing out a team that got better after getting rid of their best player.
We have Hart to bring our GAA down and a new coach so why not us?

And I'm saying they'd be even better if they made all those other changes and still had Tavares.
