LeBrun Notebook: Power forward rental market emerges,...

LeBrun says the easiest question would be "which playoff team wouldn't be interested in Simmonds". Mentions Nashville and Vegas in addition to some of the ones above.

Nashville has their 1st and 2nd, and Florida's 3rd. Tolvanen and Fabbro are interesting prospects. No way they move Tolvanen for a rental though.

Vegas has their 1st, 2nd, and three 3rds. They've also got a lot of interesting prospects. Glass, Elvenes, Suzuki, Brannstrom. They have plenty of ammo to entice me.
What about a team like Florida who might want to make a push for the last playoff spot. That could work out to be a high pick if they continue on the same pace even after getting a player like Simmonds.

Perhaps. What I like most about all this Simmonds chatter is that it's probably pretty likely that a bit of a bidding war starts up. Teams do real dumb stuff when bidding wars happen.

That stuff looks insane. Really hope some of you can read that article. They say they can track 10,000 events during a game (compared to the ~350 that are tracked now). And even use VR to show what it looked like to Player X when they scored the goal. Puck and player speeds all the time.

Some pretty cool shit if they pull all of it off.

I did an estimate last night and estimated Gee and TK took 5,000 strides and JVR took 200 strides. This is only an estimate it was probably less for big puss.
I'm going to say your estimate may have been a bit biased, I'd argue he was at least around 250.

When does the trade deadline begin and end? I know I can simply look it up, but not feeling it now. Just curious where the GM stands on who is on the block? This has been such a frustrating season to watch and it's unacceptale for a roster like this to be in a position where they are currently at. Hope everyone is well.:suds:

NHL trade deadline: Tracking the biggest moves

So far Simmonds def seems to be on the block. Not sure who else is but I hope someone needs Amac Or Voracek. Be interesting to see.

W by do I care about the 2018 TD? Lol. Thanks anyway. I'm awake now and I'll look it up.

Deadline is February 25th.

Most likely departures are the guys that will be free agents this summer:
Lehtera
Simmonds
Raffl
Weal
Folin
Neuvirth

Would be the list of UFAs (excluding Varone). There won't be a market for Lethera. I doubt for Neuvirth also. Folin/Weal, maybe, but not much return. Simmonds and Raffl are the guys I'd look at as 'on the block' that can bring something substantial back. National guys have Simmonds as one of the hot commodities this season.

If Fletcher really does want to shake things up, Voracek makes the most sense (no movement/trade clause). Gudas would be another one that makes sense (reasonable 3.35M hit, UFA in 2020). But I expect if those moves are made, it will be at the draft. Teams typically focus on "UFA to be guys" at the deadline. Easier to plan for a guy that's off the books in a few months, than someone that impacts your whole future.

Bob Mckenzie has said its more likely than not the Simmonds is dealt.

Sad to see . He was a true Flyer and loyal to the brand
Having said that I totaly understand. Hopefully we can grab a 1st rounder for him

Mckenzie also said that the Flyers are in the market for a top 4 defensman. A top 6 forward and a goalie.

Said the Flyers are willing to deal prospects and draft picks to get them.

Seems like they are all over the place

Looks like it may be a very bust deadline for them
