Yup and Carter certainly gave Toronto a chance, it's not like he left at the first opportunity. It would be a tough call. Carter, Derozan, CB4, Lowry, Leonard (on sheer star power not what he's done so far), TMAC, hell even Damon Stoudamire was a fave for a long time here. JYD and Oakley were fan faves for sure.

I mean lets be honest.

collusion, back room dealings etc. probably happen all the time in the NBA between teams and agents.

there is never any tangible proof of it.

I DOUBT the Cavaliers even had a handshake deal to say sign him for 5M instead of 6M- who cares about the 1m

but i dont doubt they messed with the Warriors- and knew that the 6M offer really meant a LOT more to the Warriors becuase of the lux. tax.

Thats really what this comes down to- a kind of loop hole in the CBA with the ability to give a non-guaranteed offer- and the Warriors not matching since it would cost them a ton of extra money since they are tax payers.

The Warriors easily could have signed matched the offer and cut McCaw- doing the same thing the Cavs did.
