I guess. I think it is all wasted energy.

Lottery isn’t disincentive though. Teams going to rest players and play young guys down the stretch no matter what.

I honestly don’t believe there is an answer that makes sense.

You constantly complain about the 3 point line being made for TV, which is incredibly silly.

The lottery is made for TV. In fact, IMO TV is the main reason they still do it.

You understand my comment about the 3 point like is an objective fact, right?

It’s literally why it was created

Oh I don’t disagree with you

That’s why I got lottery tournament

You need to keep guys sharp all year to try and land the top pick, bad teams with lots of guys making peanuts can win and get an extra pay boost

And coaches aren’t fired over ping pong balls…at least they have a shot to fight for their job

I don’t like the tournament either.

Worst team gets best player.

Do you know how embarrassing last year would’ve been?

You would’ve had a team win like 5 games

Does not matter why it was created.

To call it a made for TV gimmick today completely ignores all other facts that you continue to overlook. 99.99% of basketball is not played on TV. And most leagues use a 3 point line because what may have been a gimmick at first has actually made the game better.

Nah.

Players and coaches want to win.

Same reason why NFL teams don’t go 0-17 to secure the top pick in a year with a top QB.

No, the 3 point line is shit at the lower levels. Clearly you have no experience and are just talking out your ass.

As for the top level. This chart shows a mental illness, not a sport.

Mafiebe tv guy should digitize the floor and have the three point line appear randomly and at different distances, but be set as it is for the last minute of each quarter for comebacks. :noidea: :lol::noidea:

LOL. You obviously know nothing about me.

I teach kids and I coached high school basketball for 17 years.

I don’t think it should be part of the game before middle school. That isn’t good for youth basketball.

I tell all kids I have ever worked with to learn to shoot with good form from 10-15 feet and encourage them not to hoist 3s until their bodies are mature enough to shoot 3s with good mechanics. That isn’t happening at lower levels.

But my point is that lower levels wouldn’t have implemented the line if it was just a gimmick.

The shot chart you posted just shows that NBA players are getting smarter.

Why would anyone think a 35-40% 2 point attempt is a good shot?

It isn’t.

Shoot open 3s and high percentage 2s.

Do you not think that things seek from the top down for basketball?

The nba doesn’t adjust to the national high school rules

Just look at how now people pretend the eurostep isn’t a blatant travel because it happens in the nba

Hmmm all that. Even the last 4 sentences. And you still can't tell how the gimmick ruined the game.

There’s also a lot more variance in an nfl game than a basketball game

One fumble or dropped pass is more hurtful than one missed shot or turnover

Of course it does.

But sometimes an innovation that starts as a gimmick is actually a good idea.

3 point line is a perfect example of that.

A correctly executed euro step is not a travel.

Hand on the ball before the gather does not count as a picked up dribble. That is the rule. When done right, players can gain an advantage by using the “zero step” before the gather.

There gather step does not exist in the hs rule book

You pick up the ball and take 2 complete steps

That is a travel 100% of the time per the hs rule book

Ah, ok.

I get your point now.

I disagree with you, because I can teach a euro step that isn’t a travel under any set of rules.

May be that officials don’t call the Giannis version in high school because they see it in TV, but that doesn’t mean eurostep isn’t a good move that players shouldn’t learn.

Just learn to do it correctly.
