I do agree with that. If you want to be in the CFP, join a conference. ND is a part of the ACC in practically every other sport, why not football?

Even in football, part of their agreement for other sports is that they play like 5 ACC games a year.

This would all have been prevented if the NCAA made a rule in which you needed to be a conference champ in order to qualify for the playoffs.

I like an 8 team playoff. Each of the 5 BCS conference champs get in if they qualify (no more then 2 losses). The rest are purely at large bids and come in via some sort of scoring system to prevent teams from loading up with 3 tomato cans at home for non conference play... with no more than 2 teams from any conference. Something like that.

Currently, it should be the best 4 teams no matter what conference. I actually thought Georgia should be in the playoff instead of OU, but there was no way TV was going to let there be a rematch that soon after the SEC Conference Championship game. I don't think for a second that the real Georgia showed up at the Sugar Bowl, but we'll take it. That's just football.

Still say it should be 8 conferences with 8 teams each. Conference champ goes to the playoff. It's that simple. TV can just get over it.

I made the argument that ND did belong, they just happened to play a Clemson team that could win it all and would pummel every team in the country, not just ND. Clemson was just too damn good this year.

Yeah but your 1 team from the same conference argument is crap especially since it was proven last year on the field to be bunk. Alabama would have been left out and they won it all.

I don't like any more than you do but the Gumps won the argument and the game on the field. To deny that is just intellectual dishonesty.

This all will be moot when we go to 8 teams.

Let's get 4 deserving teams in first. I'm not convinced that has happened every year and let's be honest in half the years we could have gotten by with just 2 teams. However the margin for error with 2 teams is too slim but with 4 it is statistically remote the best team wouldn't be in the playoff.

I see zero gain in expansion and until someone that has a legit case against being left out expansion shouldn't even be considered.

You would have a point if Georgia vs Alabama hadn't happened last year and come down to the wire.

Honestly all this year proved was the committee made the right call leaving Georgia out for this year and that 4 teams are enough.

After the drumming Bama took last night we all need to re-evaluate ND because their loss looks much better now and there's a much stronger argument they actually did belong. They should be no lower than 3 in the final poll.

Once again you can't argue the committee hasn't gotten it right and at least the best 2 teams got in the field of 4.

The only way an argument for ND could be made is if they joined the ACC and played Clemson in the regular season or a CCG. By doing neither and only playing the weakest ACC teams they earned nothing.
