Instead of a .500 record, that could be close to 100% with the right scheduling. Plus the homes games per decade add up in revenue.

I'd start looking at their model a little closer.
It works for the SEC & ACC, but PAC teams actually want to play their own conference members ... it's what makes it a conference.

SEC sets 12-year non-division rotation

The SEC has changed the money and perception, I think.

Seems to be working.

Hell, the SEC has been manipulating schedules since before they expanded.
It's nothing new really.

I simply related what happened and when. They played 11 regular season games at the time.

The question of 9 conference games hasn't been voted on by the SEC. You originally asked about why no intersectional games. I told you why. UF plays fsu every year. That's why. If UF were to play those intersectional home and home games, it would then be necessary to drop fsu....something I favor doing btw.
I didn’t ask why no intersectional games, I said Florida refused to play them. They have played one non conference game outside of the state since 1991.

Again, Florida doesn’t want to play more conference games and they do not want to play out of state conference games. Saying anything else is purely false.

Clemson can play two P5 OOC games, FSU usually does, you did last year. USC and Stanford does. Playing FSU doesn’t prevent you from doing it, your AD does.

and I told you that it wasn't that UF "refused" to play them. It was that UF chose to play fsu every year rather than an intersectional opponent once FORCED to choose between them due to the conference expanding its schedule.

Oh and of course, UF played Michigan last year in Dallas. Since Michigan is not in the SEC.......

Again, Florida did not want to play more conference games. They wanted to keep playing fewer so that they could play intersectional opponents OOC.

Playing a neutral site game against Georgia and playing fsu every year prevents us from also playing another P5 OOC game....at least if we want to be able to make our budget at all.

You realize 9 is less than 12 right? You can do both...

You realize UF just like everybody else has to play a certain number of home games to meet the annual budget right?

By more intersectional you mean more UT Martin, Samford, USF, Eastern Washington, etc; because it sure as hell didn’t mean they were planning on playing more Power 5 teams.

without going through the 13 pages isn’t there a running thing about florida playing very few out of conference opponents outside state of florida in like 20 years?

Sure they were. Go back and look at who UF played OOC in the 80s.

No, but not playing enough home games is a recipe for winding up in the red. That's sorta why those big name teams that have large fanbases tend to play 7 home games...to stay out of the poorhouse.

I don’t care about the schedules but if any team in the SEC is close to the red then the school needs to clean house of everyone at the athletic department.

Its not that we're close to the red. Its that football must financially support all the other programs on campus with the exception of men's basketball. In addition, we are in the midst of finally catching up (a decade late) in the facilities arms race. That requires an expenditure of over $200 million. About half of that has been raised by contributions so far but considering a home game generates about $3 mil, why would or should the athletic department turn that down? It makes no sense.

Its unfortunate that the Florida athletic department has fallen on hard times. Thank God for the B1G, BigXii, and pac12s strong leadership to ensure programs can thrive financially under a 9 game conference schedule.
