The Wizards got marginally better this year (unless the subtraction of Rivers helps them in the locker room). The Suns returned a young player who is likely to get overpaid by somebody next summer.

Rivers can play at PG to free up Booker to play at SG.....he's not a pure PG but he can fill in at that position.

Yeah, Austin can play some point.

He's currently their best option.

Washington didn't lose much, if anything.

Ariza can duplicate Kelly's offense and is way better defensively.

The Wiz have cap issues.

So, they were never going to reup either of those guys and both are up for extensions this Summer.

You think they would be up to giving those guys the 25 mil or more that it would take to keep them after paying Beal 30, Wall 40 and Porter 25 mil?

I would hope so.

I mean, if memory serves, there was a trade propsal (not sure if it was real or not), that had the Lakers sending KCP to a team (forget who), that team sending the Suns a point guard and the Suns sending Ariza to the Lakers.

That would have been a better deal than this one if they aren't planning another move. At least it would have addressed a need. Obviously didn't need to be that particular trade, but anything that landed them a point guard would have been better.
