Playing South Carolina isn't exactly the same as playing FSU every year OOC most of the time.

And playing FSU and Idaho isn't the same as playing South Carolina and Auburn. Or South Carolina and Texas A&M. Or South Carolina and Texas A&M. Or South Carolina and Alabama. Or South Carolina and TCU.

Total top 10 and total ranked (end of season)

Last 20 years.
Last 30 years.
Last 40 years.

We can settle this objectively.

Boise St did demand home and homes, they would only take neutral sites.

Nebraska Offers Boise State Two-for-One Deal: Why Won't BSU Accept?

For example, Nebraska offered Boise St a 2 for 1 deal, and Boise St wouldn't take less than a home and home.

They've gotten some home and homes lately, but everyone saying Boise St didn't try to pull a bunch of bullshit is wrong.

We'll take a 2 for 1 if the money is right, we don't have an unlimited amount of money like you guys do. Nebraska didn't offer enough, Michigan State and Oregon ponied up and we took 2 for 1s with them (though Oregon doesn't have to pay as much since they're a closer trip)

We all know they won’t be doing that again any time soon if they can help it. :dhd:

Can’t do any better than this but here is a list of ever matchup FSU and Fla have played, you can tell by the record how many times FSU could have been top 10 and look up the year. Same done for Clemson/ South Carolina.

Over the last 40 years OOC (regular season) I count
26 final top 10 opponents (5 of those were national champs)
18 more final ranked opponents.

I'm willing to entertain claims that UF's OOC scheduling is weak. Just show me your team has played more than UF over this time. Show us your work.

I try to limit my defenses of Florida, but if I had to play FSU every year I probably wouldn't leave the state either.

LSU will end the streak. Devin White will play and we’re pretty pissed about the Abomination in College Station. Honors will take the loss in stride, congratulate my team, and continue on with the #UCFacts.

Part of it is degree of difficulty as is.....when fsu and miami are in your home state you can have a damn tough OOC schedule without ever leaving the state. Part of it is the neutral site game with UGA. Factor in 7 conference games + fsu thus 4 are going to be home games and 4 away games every year. Now add in the WLOCP which is an away game. Thus 9 games down with only 3 to go and UF has only played 4 home games. Thus UF is going to need the remaining 3 to all be home games in order to have a total of 7 which is what is needed for revenue purposes. If UF is to give up one of these, it needs to be a really nice payday like Michigan in Dallas or occasionally miami. Giving another home game away to play the likes of ucf makes zero financial sense and its not like with an fsu schedule + fsu and sometimes miami, UF would need to strengthen its schedule any. ucf has nothing to offer UF.

I'm sure you'll take a good bit of things now.

Back when you were going undefeated you guys wouldn't.

I don't really care about who has the whatever more often stuff. Just saying playing FSU quality every year OOC is not something most teams do.

Hell, Alabama did it last year and it turned out to be bad and they are bad again this year, but that was supposed to be a marquee game added on to our schedule, and yet people are always acting like Florida does nothing and like them playing that game means nothing.

Just don't agree.

Maybe in the 1970's and 80's it did. Since then your OOC has been mostly FSU and three nobodies

Not in the 70's or 80's either.

Since UF joined the SEC in 1933 they have only played
33 reg season road games against OOC schools from outside
the state of Florida.
