Eh, not really. Colin hasn't played for a couple of years and does not know anything about that offense. Sanchez has worked Within that offense and with some of those coaches and so they felt like if, worst case scenario, McCoy did get hurt, at least Sanchez would understand some of the Playbook.

Colin would be absolutely worthless to the Redskins if McCoy goes down in their next few games even if he is more talented than sanchez.

That is what the Colin supporters don't understand. Teams don't necessarily look at the most 'talented' player available in a situation like this. They are looking for how that player can fit into the role they need them to fit.

The NFL's "meritocracy" spins on. When last we heard of 32-year-old Sanchez, he was being slapped with a four-game PED ban in April. Now he will serve as Colt McCoy's backup in Washington. Sanchez has attempted just 109 passes since the end of the 2014 seasons. Teams have to start getting more imaginative at quarterback instead of recycling the same retreads over and over and over again.

Should've traded them Brady for a bushel of crabs.

Sanchez was on the Bears a few years back. He was/is more of a QB coach than player. Show a younger player the profession of being a QB, what is expected. That's my guess. Playing time. No, no one wants that, no one wants to see that.

it would have made sense in the off-season for sure ... i wonder how much, at this point, some of it has to do with the fact that teams want to bring him in as a back-up and they are not sure how that would play out in the locker room and nationally? He has become such a polarizing figure in the black community, about the only way you could bring him in as a back-up is if you have a super, rock-solid starter that no one questions should be the starter.

could you imagine if Kaep had been brought into, let's say, the Redskins during the off-season .... the first bad game Smith had would probably have become an instant QB controversy fiasco nationally and in the locker room ... that's not a good thing so teams may just be trying to avoid a circus.

Tebow got injured playing baseball this year. A broken right hand. I know he's a lefty, but you don't even know if he could grip a football right now. Plus the Mets would immediately void his contract and his baseball dream is over.

Plus, who thinks that the SEC Network is just going to wait around for him? Fox didn't for Cutler.

So he'd get 6 weeks of pay on a minimum salary and cost himself both of his other jobs.
