Weep for me all you want. We are undefeated, yet again. I don't care about your tears lol
So you do believe that every time a FCS team or very low ranked team has an upset they are indeed always 100% better than every team that poor victim goes on to beat after that for the rest of the season.

You are way more of a moron then than I had been thinking you might be lately. I've horribly misjudged you. :burt:

Could they compete? Maybe. There isn't any proof and that's the point. There isn't enough cross threads between conferences.

Does this mean it somehow makes a case for expanded playoffs? :L Good God no, it does not.

I'll say this again and again until some of you snap out of it and face reality. There's a difference between winning a post season tournament and being crowned the best team. They are not the same thing. They haven't ever been the same thing, yet some of you are under this misconception.

The SB championship doesn't always go to the best team from that season. Nor the WS champ or the NBA championship. We have seen upstarts win March Madness.

We could devise a format for 32 teams and sooner or later a seed above 20 would win it. That doesn't somehow justify they were the best team in college football, it simply means they would be the last team standing.

No, we do NOT need yet another bloated fucking tournament to give more participation trophies like candy to dozens of teams that can then be lazy and get in on half assed schedules and mediocre results as would inevitably happen. Clearly we also don't need the added bullshit of automatic participation trophies and all that baggage that comes with it, but even if you just expanded the committee it's nothing but a way to entirely water down the sport yet again under the guise that it somehow adds fairness that it simply can't.
This is not a thread about expanding the playoff . This is a thread asking if you think it's possible UCF is one of the 4 best teams in the country even though they aren't one of the 4 most deserving

In this instance, yes, because UCF is a better team than Oklahoma State, Army, Purdue and USC. Doesn't work all the time, but does here. UCF isn't just some FCS teams that has an upset every 5-6 years.

No I asked why SoS matters for a team like UCF but "eye test " is acceptable when discussing P5 teams. I understand there's a difference between a 75 SOS and a 115 SOS but you really don't think it's possible for someone to watch the games and think "UCF would beat Wazzu or ND" ( 2 teams ahead of them with poor SoS)

They talk about the eye test because the SoS of those teams are comparable.

UCF's schedule is not comparable.

And no I do not think they could beat these teams on a more difficult schedule. You just ignore so much stuff that comes from playing these conference games.

Take Alabama and LSU for example. When you play a team like that every year, they built their entire team around beating you and the things you do. Same goes for other conference teams as well, they all build and game plan year round for these teams. Which is how/why you get all these different conferences with different "metas" about them.

Not to mention the beating they take. Do I think UCF could make it through Alabama's November schedule this year undefeated? Not a chance in hell.

I mean really all people do in these arguments is show how much you simply do not get it.

What teams have you beat that have beat what p5 teams?????????????

WHY SO MANY QUESTION MARKS?!??!

We've beaten everyone we've played for the last 2 years. That's all we can do. What more would you like us to do? And the inevitable answer is schedule more. Newflash, schedules are made YEARS in advance, so that's not doable either.

I would think both in that category are equally impressive... but they are both still in a whole different class

So to you, a 3-8 P5 team is better than an 8-3 G5 team.

Yeah, because that makes sense...

glad you brought B12 up.. TCU and WVU were 10+ win teams that won their confs often.. Until they moved to b12. I will give slight credit for tcu winning b12 a bit ago but it was a down year for b12. Ou was bad and texas was no where.. Both teams are in fact competitive but no where near owning the conf year after year like they did in their former confs.. Because they are playing better teams. A UCF would do ok but they would have the same fate. Ucf fans should understand life isnt fair.
It's happened to every team who moved up to a P5 conference from G5. Utah was strung together 10+ win seasons then joined the Pac 12 and have been middle of the road ever since. They didn't drop straight to doormat levels, but ended up being a consistent 5 to 8 win team.

It's laughable when people try to pretend there really isn't that big of difference between a G5 and P5 schedule. I mean, it being time for this "real talk thread" because UCF beat Cincinnati is really all the proof you need... Stop everything! they beat a team with a winning record! Time to get real now!

What the fuck kind of argument is this? There are A LOT of teams that are better than all those. Are any of those even top25 teams?

Here is an idea instead of pretending you are a p5 that can afford to not Reschedule a game, try playing 12 games every fucking year!!

but they are all POO POO!!!!!!!!!!

We beat them all and most of them convincingly. Including an Auburn team that beat Bama last year. We had 3 ranked wins last year. There's nothing more we can do. We can't magically change our schedule to be tougher. Scheduling takes YEARS. Teams are scheduling Home vs. Home games in 2028 right now for christ sakes.
