That’s not a bad possibility. I also heard someone say that the league may be colluding against him to “set an example”. The theory goes that if the league colluded against Kaepernick... why not Bell?

The proof will come next season once FA starts.
You know the Steelers will try this behind all the closed doors. And some owners will go with it. I mean who wants to have to pay RBs their fair share? Certainly not the owners as a collective. But at least one will want the star power Bell provides.

BAL would definitely be an interesting stop for Bell, but not with Flacco $26 mil cap hit on the books. Assuming they end their contract with Flacco and take on his $16 mil dead money hit...even if they're able to spread it over '19 & '20...that's still a lot of cap space taken up...very doubtful they will be looking to add a contract on the level that Bell is looking for.

That Flacco deal is the gift that keeps on giving isn't it...

The Jets want to combine a me first player at running back and a turnover machine at qb, get some popcorn and watch the sparks fly better than 4th of July celebration.

He'd also stay in the AFC North....

Interesting landing spot. Especially, if they went with Jackson at QB.....him and Bell would give them a potent running game.

Not sure if they could do it under the salary cap though.

According to Spotrac...BAL has about $9 mil in cap space. They obviously can make some moves to increase cap space, but Bell is seeking $15 mil + per season...they can probably get the 1st yr of his new deal to be a reasonable cap hit, but the vast majority of teams are not putting $15-18 mil in cap space in the RB position.

My opinion of Lamar Jackson right now is not very high as a QB...Not all his fault because everytime I see him making a play, it's running. I don't think that's a good matchup for Bell because he's going to be facing 8 man fronts until Jackson gets the QB position figured out.

The teams I think will be in the market for Bell have a lot more cap space...NYJ have twice as much as BAL.

I'm going to make an assumption that Flacco is out after this season. If so, I think most of us saw this day coming...he got the ring, but the production never fit the cap hit and was never going to.

The proof will come next season once FA starts.

I've thought of both scenarios....first that he's set an unprecendented and idiotic bar that the powers that be might get together and punish him. I highly doubt an owner/GM breaks that 'promise' and sign him to something stupid because they'd be on the outs with the rest of the league....good luck in making further trades and shit...

Then I thought perhaps he's tested the waters, or somebody contacted his agent and made a 'guaranteed' deal based on health and whatnot (can't get hurt if you don't play).

As you said....the proof will come next year....and as I've said from day 1 of this nonsense.....fuck him no matter what.

yep, Flacco and his head coach may be gone ... there may be some big changes there in the off season

Gtfo him in that system with Nagy would be nuts
C'mon, now... Who really wants Bell or the Bears to succeed!?! Chicago fans are already insufferable when they've got a halfway decent team and Bell is a selfish asshole that deserves to be tied to a sinking ship.

Raiders it is!

[p.s. - I was conversing with my brother yesterday about the possibility a Bell-Bears marriage. We were both like "yeah, that could be a lethal combo... F that, let em all rot in mediocrity!"]

Bell threw away a full season of his prime. Which in RB years = around 3 seasons.

Not to mention 14.5 million dollars during his earning prime.

Oh, and (for a handful of reasons) his price on the open market for next season has probably gone down as a result of all of this.

Not very well played...
I don't think a year of not playing quite counts the same to a rb's body as a year of playing

I still think the Colts make the most sense. They have cap space and a team that would be ready to win right now. Adding him to a healthy Luck and a rebuilt OL that's playing well and you have a damn impressive offense.
