Perhaps... but help your team win now, don't be a distraction and you'll be rewarded by either getting a bigger contract or get to where you want to go...

Athletes are so freaking spoiled these days. They get paid a ton and when one little thing doesn't go there way they bitch about it and whine and want out... You signed a contract... Deal with it... You are still getting your money. I have no problem with a player wanting to win because obviously everyone should want to win... But come on, it's not just Butler... It's all the players wanting to go to a "super team" and it's not just in the NBA

I agree athletes are spoiled these days. But jimmy didn’t get big money when he came into the league and actually worked his ass off. I think if KAT and Wiggins were working their ass off there would be no issue.

Is the bold a real question?

First of all...maybe, like everyone else, he sees the level of talent KAT and Wiggins have and sees that if they can actually start playing like they care, he could win with them and wouldn't need to leave.

As for the bold, if guys aren't responding to what you're doing, you need to change it up. Maybe he's tried the "pull them aside and instruct them quietly" approach and it hasn't worked.

As for a team to want to put up with him. If a team wants to win, they'll "put up" with guys who care.

Kobe could be a world class asshole. But his teammates "put up with him" and put in the work because they knew it meant deep playoff runs and rings.

more of a rhetorical question but you answered it nicely

if you think "caring" is demanding a trade, and publicly calling out teammates and being combative instead of keeping things internal and leading by example i dont know what to tell you.

"caring" is not disrupting the whole franchise. This isnt about making the Twolves better- if you think it is you are insane. This about him trying to get every last stinking dollar he can by whining his way to at eam that can pay him.

Don't know their contracts, nor do I follow the Timberwolves so I can't say anything about contracts and money...

I disagree here. I'm not saying it was the best way to handle it. But, I can also see where his frustration could get to the point that he would do what he did. Especially if he felt he had tried other approaches with no change.

Based on.... ? They were a 3 seed when he went down last year.... with an already short bench. They had no depth. Had they lost any one of the starters, they still would've struggled to hold onto a playoff position. Say they lost Towns in stead... he wouldn't have been able to carry that team.

SO... where's the frustration coming from?

Again, I'm all for "lighting a fire" but this isn't the way to do it... Then again in the media age we live in, it could be being blown way out of proportion because of the media.. I'm not in Minnesota or in the locker room, etc

He had zero issues in Chicago. My memory is bad and they were not great but everyone was pretty “all in”

Rose just kept getting hurt. When Wade came in, I think everyone knew Jimmy was trade bait or getting a max

The only bullshit is what you spew in the rest of your post. No one bought it the first 25 times you posted it and no ones buying it now.

Maybe he doesn’t think the younger guys have what it takes to win? They sure as hell couldn’t do a lot without Jimmy

Jimmy wouldn't have been able to do a lot had Towns been the one missing games, either...

He was drafted at the bottom of the 1st round so he didn’t come into the league spoiled at all. Was just the opposite actually and the dude worked his ass off

Shit having your star player request a trade used to be business as usual for the Warriors. Maybe that's why I'm so numb to it. You could be like Chris Webber and request a trade right after you won Rookie of the Year and your team traded Anfernee Hardaway and 3 first rounders to get him. Or you could be Latrell Sprewell and just choke your coach out during practice to ensure you get traded. Or you could be the GOAT like Stephen Jackson who went over Chris Mullin's head (GM at the time) and sign an extension with the front office after Mullin didn't offer an extension. That lead to Chris Mullin being fired, and then he immediately demanded a trade.

Ya'll act like this is brand new stuff. LOL.

Based on the fact that they have the talent that they shouldn't have fallen all the way to the what? 8th seed?

I disagree about what they could have done without Butler. They played without heart. If Townes had gone down instead of Butler, they probably don't finish as the 3 seed, but they don't drop all the way to 8th.

The frustration has been covered. He's got teammates that don't want to put in the work or listen to those who have.

I don't know how everyone else feels.

But, I find myself liking Jimmy more after all this.

He's right.

Wiggins is dogging it.

Both he and KAT are soft.

With that being said, you side with the younger guy every time.

KAT is the future and they are stuck with Wiggins.

So, Jimmy has to go.

He's almost 30.

Yes, he is a top 5 two way player.

But, he's not a #1.

You don't pay your #2 option 40 plus mil per to be a 1st or 2nd round knockout.
Yep. Shaq went and Kobe stayed.

I'm not defending him being entitled. But that also comes with the stipulation that he's competitive as all hell. Half of this drama would not have ensued if his teammates worked to a level close to what Jimmy Butler does. He said in his interview he aired his grievances about the entire team with Thibs 4 days after they were eliminated from the playoffs. Nothing was addressed, then they told him we're not giving you the extension you want. It's a trickle down effect.

Basically they're enabling their other entitled stars while telling the guy who works the hardest we're not paying you.

How about your management backing Butler? Telling KAT and Wiggins...We don't particularly care for how he did it. But he has a point. You 2 need to put in the work and get better. Maybe they do. Maybe they don't. With the talent those 2 have, they could very scary if they did.

When last season ended, Magic and Pelinka put all of the kids on notice. They basically told them, this is going to be the biggest off-season of your lives and we expect you to respond.

The message was clear, do the work, or you'll be gone.

The result is that all of the Lakers kids look bigger, stronger and better. They still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but the improvement is noticeable.

Not trying to pump up the Lakers to shit on the Wolves. But just illustrating the difference in approach.

In the case of the Wolves, the players were either left to their own devices...or they were told to put in the work and didn't. Either way, it's a problem that they have to fix if they want to maximize their talent.

WTF?!?! You have no idea wtf Towns or Wiggins has done this past offseason... just saying you don't know the smell of shit from your armpit, now.

How many rings does he have is the oldest, most over used nonsense going. It's what people use when they have nothing else to back their point. You understand that teams win titles and you need a roster that has the talent to win one, right?

Just because a player hasn't been on a team that is good enough to win a title, doesn't mean he hasn't has success in the league and isn't a great player or a player that should be listened to by young players who truly haven't accomplished anything in the league.

The funny thing is that, with Townes and Wiggins, the Wolves could very well have a contending roster, but they don't want to listen or put in the work.

The funnier thing is, you and other Wolves fans are backing them. Which is why the Wolves won't be winning any titles any time soon.
I think Adam Morrison has a ring....

Show me where he didn't take that approach first.

The best players on teams have been calling out teammates for decades. Quit trying to pretend this some new shit that Butler just started.

Kobe and Jordan both bitched out teammates routinely. While Butlers not on the same level of those guys, the attitude and reasoning behind it is not only reasonable but respectable. Hell draymond bitches out his teammates and coaching staff probably more than anyone in the league.
The one issue with this sentiment is:

You have NO IDEA how Jordan conducted himself in practice. You're simply absorbing the propaganda spread by the LeBron nuthuggers that LBJ is a humanitarian and that Jordan was the opposite...
