This is why the Wolves aren't winning shit with KAT and Wiggins as the focal points of the team. It's obviously the attitude of the entire organization.

If the best player on your team can't call out teammates...no one can.

But what can we do about it? They clearly aren't going anywhere, they could win with KAT and other pieces but they will never win with Wiggins.

Why bring it up then? He's said all along that he will honor his contract and play out his deal.

Whether or not he's willing to play out his deal isn't the question.

because just shut up and play it out.... Wait till the end and you can go where you want. How does bitching like he is going to help him get a team to want to put up with him?

Of course he wants money. But he also doesn’t like to lose. Doesn’t take much these days to attract a few super stars, go to the knicks or heat and make a go at it

His situation in Minnesota is better than what he would have in New York or Miami.

Maybe he doesn’t think the younger guys have what it takes to win? They sure as hell couldn’t do a lot without Jimmy

Perhaps... but help your team win now, don't be a distraction and you'll be rewarded by either getting a bigger contract or get to where you want to go...

Athletes are so freaking spoiled these days. They get paid a ton and when one little thing doesn't go there way they bitch about it and whine and want out... You signed a contract... Deal with it... You are still getting your money. I have no problem with a player wanting to win because obviously everyone should want to win... But come on, it's not just Butler... It's all the players wanting to go to a "super team" and it's not just in the NBA

The problem isn't that he's not ok with the talent, he's not ok with their commitment and their heart. That's what his gripe with his teammates is about. The front office gripe is a totally different subject. He wants Towns and Wiggins to be better but he's concerned they don't have their priorities straight. That's what he wants. He wants to win.

That's fine.. Deal with it in house (as he appears he tried to do with his meeting with the team)

Unless he doesn’t like millennials that go through the motions. If those youngsters don’t have the hunger... they gonna win shit anyway

Sometimes you gotta light a fire. Especially under young kids that already have millions.

Again, I'm all for "lighting a fire" but this isn't the way to do it... Then again in the media age we live in, it could be being blown way out of proportion because of the media.. I'm not in Minnesota or in the locker room, etc

Kyrie Irving started out the preseason with his, Butler and I want to be together and he hinted he wanted to go to NY. Ainge must have said something to him about being traded to Cleveland or something because all of a sudden it was dead silence. Maybe he threatened to trade him to NY now......whatever it was, it sure did quiet Kyrie.

Big problem now is Gordon Hayward's back......needed some kind of injection yesterday.

I honestly don't think this is what's most important to him. Does this shit happen if the Wolves give him the contract? I don't think so, the team said no and he said fuck it gonna go out in a blaze of glory!

Your boss comes to you and says, "hey we want you to keep working hard, but we're not going to give you any more raises. We've given the raises to these other guys that don't work nearly as hard as you do, but we like them better."

You don't think you'd want a better situation?
if i signed a 3 year contract and 2 years into it i wasnt happy is it professional to be disruptive, to whine like a little petulant child to the media and be purposefully distruptive to the team?

An employee can be fired or quit at anytime for any reason. This guy signed a contract and a couple years in doesnt like it anymore so he decides to try and be so disruptive and tank his trade value so much that his team just decides to get rid of him becuase its too much of a headache to deal with

that = scumbag. total and complete scumbag.

of course he will play out his deal! what the fuck other option does he have? he cant just sit at home and not get paid and languish for an entire year

thats why he is doing what he is doing--- acting like a huge man-baby whining and crying to the media and calling out his teammates, coaches, mangement to the point where he becomes a big enough problem where they say- SCREW THIS WE GOTTA TRADE HIM.

hes acting like a whiny little pussy throwing a hissy fit to try and get what he wants.

he cnat even get the contract he wants till next offseason and with Towns and Wiggins he knows the Twolves arent going to give him 5 yerars 190 million

any team that does give him 5 y ears 190 million to a 30 year old that relies on his athleticism like Butler deserves what they will get.

But what can we do about it? They clearly aren't going anywhere, they could win with KAT and other pieces but they will never win with Wiggins.

How about your management backing Butler? Telling KAT and Wiggins...We don't particularly care for how he did it. But he has a point. You 2 need to put in the work and get better. Maybe they do. Maybe they don't. With the talent those 2 have, they could very scary if they did.

When last season ended, Magic and Pelinka put all of the kids on notice. They basically told them, this is going to be the biggest off-season of your lives and we expect you to respond.

The message was clear, do the work, or you'll be gone.

The result is that all of the Lakers kids look bigger, stronger and better. They still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but the improvement is noticeable.

Not trying to pump up the Lakers to shit on the Wolves. But just illustrating the difference in approach.

In the case of the Wolves, the players were either left to their own devices...or they were told to put in the work and didn't. Either way, it's a problem that they have to fix if they want to maximize their talent.

hey if thats the case thats fine--- but you are swallowing his bullshit hook line and sinker.

IF that really is the case and he is just all about trying to win and get Wiggins and Towns to play better- why the hell do you cry to the media like he has? why do you demand a trade? Why do you lose your shit at practice like a crazy person and call out every single unit in the whole franchise? The answer is- just to make scene and make a big show for the media.

this is and always will be about one thing. Money. He wants to be traded to a team that will give him 5 years 190M next offseason. If he did the respectable thing and just played his contract out and left in FA he could only get 4 years with smaller raises from other teams. Its 100% about $. He KNOWS the Twolves arent giving him 5 years 190 going into his age 30 season and i sure as hell cant blame them.

All the other shit is just him trying to put some cover out there so he doesnt look like the huge asshole that he clearly is.

A real leader would keep things internal and lead by example. A petulant child trying to whine his way out of town would do exactly what Butler is doing- make a big show out of nonsense and cry to the media.

Is the bold a real question?

First of all...maybe, like everyone else, he sees the level of talent KAT and Wiggins have and sees that if they can actually start playing like they care, he could win with them and wouldn't need to leave.

As for the bold, if guys aren't responding to what you're doing, you need to change it up. Maybe he's tried the "pull them aside and instruct them quietly" approach and it hasn't worked.

As for a team to want to put up with him. If a team wants to win, they'll "put up" with guys who care.

Kobe could be a world class asshole. But his teammates "put up with him" and put in the work because they knew it meant deep playoff runs and rings.
