That was one thing on the podcast with Mike Wright that I agreed with. If he's so upset about Parker and Manu's comments, which were taken completely out of context when you actually watch the videos, what the hell is he gonna do when someone like LaVar mouths off and says something about him? If he's this sensitive in a tiny media market like San Antonio, he will absolutely crumble elsewhere.

The one thing I've heard throughout all of this is that an impetus for Kawhi wanting out of San Antonio is because he got a shitty sneaker deal. Now for the life of me I can't figure out why players get so obsessed about sneaker deals and ignore the massive deals they are being offered in salary. He's going to need one hell of a sneaker deal to makeup for the nearly 100 million in lost revenues he's facing because of all of this nonsense.

I also don't think that Kawhi is equipped to be The Man! His personality is not well suited to that sort of intensity. LA would be ok because Lebron would be the focal point. Philly would be ok because Embiid just eats up the limelight. Toronto would be tough, IMO. They won 59 games last year but were still pretty far from being a contender. Would Kawhi be able to carry them further or to the same point? How would he handle being the guy that every reporter wants to talk to after the game?

Also...I really want no part of anything Toronto has to offer. I like Kyle Lowry and Valanciunas, but that's about all I'd want from them. DeRozan is a great player, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he's reliable enough in the long run.

DeRozan is a max contract guy. Not sure he provides max contract value, particularly in the playoffs.

Is there anything from a source that isn't a bookie or a blog that the Raptors and Spurs are even talking?

I don't know.

But Laker fans should be praying this happens.

Philly, you might be missing the boat here. Markelle Fultz should not be the deal breaker. I don't think he really fits that well with Simmons anyway.

Maybe offer Fultz, Saric and picks. Try to keep Covington.

He isn't getting traded to the Raps.

I thought he was going to TORONTO a week ago.

I still think the RAPTORS are the clubhouse leader with the offer SA prefers.

Nobody talked about it last week, now suddenly everyone is picking up on it.

Toronto is forcing LA or Philly to give up more now.

Unless, those other teams change a few things.....toronto seems likely now.

I say let Toronto take him and see how it goes in free agency next summer. Clearly the Lakers have made their splash and will do good in the regular season - Next year when Rondo at 9 million, KCP at 12 million and some of the smaller contracts comes off the books, they will have enough $$$ for one big free agency and if the Lakers finds a way to dump the Deng contract without giving up any significant players - they will have the $$$$ for a second big free agent along with a young core who's growth and development will be accelerated by LeBron. What's not to like about that?

Frankly - if it becomes clear that Deng can't be traded - then buy him out this next season so that he clears the books for the 2019-20 season and the Lakers then will have another 40 million for free agents and LeBron -

Apparently Toronto is going all in and this is probably the last chance for teams like Philly and LA. Then again, we will be saying this now and nothing will have gotten done in a month from now probably.

I'd be ecstatic if Leonard gets traded to Toronto.....as opposed to Philly.....

He'd come to the Lakers next summer.

Are they offering any picks or just players?

He won't be a laker, uncle dennis doesn't want his cash cow playing 2nd fiddle to LeBron. Michael C. Wright said as much.

We'll see....he isn't going to the Clippers....

You think so? Because by all accounts, Kawhi wants to end up in LA....the city. The Clippers would meet that criteria.

Yeah, and his camp is already floating that idea around. Honestly the lakers shouldn't focus on kawhi, that ship has sailed.

Saw something the other day about Kawhi being upset that Jordan brand only offered him 5 mil per year.

It was stated that he doesn't do any promotion and has only sent out 4 tweets, the last one over a year and a half ago.

You have to have a social media presence, do promotional tours, make public donations to schools....SOMETHING to promote the product.

He's not charismatic like a Shaq, Embiid.

He's not a high profile assassin like Kobe and Jordan.

He doesn't do overseas camps and promotion like Wade and Klay Thompson.

He wants money for nothing.

This kid is a bit delusional.

SNEAKER DEALS?? Jeez.......

The main reason he doesnt have a huge sneaker deal is not San Antonio.....
It is because he is a quiet introverted guy who keeps to himself.

He doesn't tweet. He doesnt do charity functions. He doesnt go to high profile events. He doesnt do interviews. He doesnt have a friendly relationship with any reporters. His agent has exactly one client and zero contacts with GMs,
He doesnt even speak a single word to him teammates.

How is Los Angeles going to suddenly cure all of that??
If Lebron James had picked San Antonio instead of Los Angeles, I guarantee he would sell sneakers still.

You need to be a CHARISMATIC, photogenic, witty, person to be a big time pitchman.
Lebron is all of them. Kobe is all of them. Steph is all of them.
Kawhi is none of them.

At this point, I am surprised that the Lakers havent moved on.
He is always injured and seems to be a world class diva as well.

But, we still dont know a damn thing that is 100% true, because Kawhi refuses to speak.

I agree. I think Uncle Drew & Co have sold Kawhi a false bill of goods.

He’s is going to make Toronto a contender and he doesn’t have to deal with Lebron in the East. Boston, Tonroto then Philly, I would throw Indiana in there too.

If the Raptors can get Kawai without losing Derozan and Lowry then we win the East.

I really dont want to give up OG as I see him as a young Kawai anyway.
Powell,Siakam,Vanvleet and a 1st Id do. If the Spurs like Ibaka Id put him in the deal in a heartbeat as well

That last offer would get straight laughter before the quick hang up. Besides, you can't trade VanVleet until December.

If he goes to LA, he could get a bigger offer from BBB (LOL) or a Chinese brand, as the Lakers are huge overseas. The shoe game is expanding; the Jordan brand isn't the only game in town anymore. Hell, Puma is throwing money at the top rookies this year.
