Also, and I'll tell you this now. Wiggy's likely right in that if Lebron goes to LA, that the Cavs would try to trade Love for some picks and start the "tanking" process. But I guarantee you that Gilbert in no way is going to try and help the Lakers out in anyway. Need proof - look no further than to how Lebron left the first time.

I get that but the Lakers could offer a package that would be hard to turn down.

For Kevin Love?

Of course.

But Why are you trying to recreate The Cleveland roster? It didn't work so well this year and Love was a complete non factor in the Finals. He is a good secondary scorer, sure, burn he doesn't defend and his best days are behind him.

If LA offered Ingram, Kuzma and Deng, Cleveland would accept in less than 2 seconds.

That's way too much. I was suggesting it as a backup plan if they can't get a 2nd max guy with James this summer.

And my offer was Ingram or Kuzma, Deng (to make the salaries match), and a 1st rounder if they can trade Ball to Phoenix or Orlando......should be a top 8-10 pick.

And then sign a max player next summer, maybe Leonard. Love would be a nice #3 option on that team as a shooter. And he's only signed for a few more seasons.

Yeah, I still think that isn't a good move.

Keep the kids and go get Kawhi next year. That is if you want a shot against GS. Love is not the answer there.

The Bulls letting Zach Lavine leave?

I hope not, but it sounds like Sacramento is gonna make a run at him. The Bulls can match any offer and I think they will as long as it doesn't get into crazy territory, IMO.

Love was actually fairly productive in this Finals, on the offensive end. But the previous two, not so much. As you've mentioned, why try to replicate a roster combination similar to Cleveland when you saw it clearly didn't work against Golden St.

It's trying to do the same thing over and over expecting different results. That, ladies and gentlemen is the definition of insanity.

You subtract James and Love and the Lakers have a better core than the Cavs. It's 2 players, not the entire team.

And outside shooting was a huge weakness for the Lakers this past season. In James and Love you add 2 good outside shooters and like I mentioned, next summer they could add another big time player (Leonard, etc).....

Your team is formed around all stars, first and foremost. It's also really difficult to compare what core rosters are going to look like should you land Lebron (and hypothetically, Love). For one, Randle is essentially gone. Two, Ball at the moment isn't the quintessential ideal fit along Lebron given he doesn't allow for spacing on the floor; Lebron excels with perimeter shooters. Really, you only have Ingram and Kuzma to compare; the latter of which doesn't play defense that well (but he's only a rookie so maybe it's something he works on).

I really don't understand how we're having a debate with how valuable Love is with Lakers fans, whom were bashing him not even a month ago. Yet, here we are.

Um.....read my post closer.

1-I said it was a backup plan if we got just James.

2-Ball would be dealt to Orlando or Phoenix to get a better 1st to acquire Love.

3-We'd have Love (42%), James (37%), Kuzma (37%, assuming Ingram gets dealt for Love), and Hart (40%) that can hit the 3.

Not if you give away Ingram you don't.

Because Kuzma and Deng isn't a very good offer. Ingram and Deng is fair, but unless you sign a Paul George type to go with LeBron and Love, they would not be a lock to get out of the first round in the West.

To be honest, this year's Cavs team may not have gotten past the first round in the West either.

Never said they'd be that competitive in the playoffs. Probably a 6-7 seed with James, Love, Kuzma, and the rest of the roster

They'd be biding time until next summer when they could sign a max guy to go along with James and Love plus the rest of the roster. Then they'd make their postseason run.

The offer would be Ingram, Deng, and dealing Ball to Phoenix or Orlando for a 1st that would probably be top 8.

Yeah,

Still having trouble wrapping my head around why you would want Love as part of that core. He just doesn't match up well with the one team you would be chasing. YOU can use that $25 million much better.

He'd be a #3 option next summer when we land another FA, most likely Leonard......and he's only signed for 2 more years.
