I'll go with th Warriors in five and then LeBron making his FA decisions as to where he goes in 2019.

Just want to point out that a lot of folks were quick to pick the Ws in 4-5 over the Rockets. I think it's too glib to say Ws sweep the Cavs

if Cleveland wins both games on their home court i would be overjoyed and surprised. They need to split in GSW- split in Cleveland--- prob lose game 5--- win game 6----- and then let LeBron do his thing in a Game 7.

I can see it being read now. GS takes game 1 in a blow out. Takes game 2 blow out. The storyline becomes this is going to be a snoozefest Finals and the Warriors are just too much for LeBron.

Cleveland goes on to win game 3, setting up the "can the cavs tie the series up in game 4?" narrative, which they do and suddenly the talk becomes "We got ourselves a series" and "Can LeBron really carry the Cavs over the Warriors?"

Warriors go back home and blow out the Cavs setting up "Elimination for LeBron" and then the Cavs end up losing in a close battle in game 6.

It sounds like 2015 except Cleveland went up 2-1 on GS when they didn’t have Kyrie and Love. They lost steam in that series, guys were getting IV’s and they were playng bench players as starters. Crazy they won 2 in that series.

If the Warriors and the Cavs have the same amount of possessions, the Warriors will win 9 times out of ten.

So, for the Cavs, it all comes down to rebounds and turnovers.
  • Don't turn the ball over.
  • Capitalize on Warriors turnovers
  • Crash offensive glass selectively (as long as your man isn't Curry or Klay or KD)
  • Secure defensive rebounds whenever the Warriors do miss a shot

LeBrons gonna need to do his thing every single game to get any wins at all. To your credit, you know the chances are very slim the Cavs win 4 times.

Regarding this whole : "Warriors only needed 5 games last year when the Cavs had Kyrie" line of thinking

A) Those 5 games included 2 blowouts by the Warriors, 1 blowout by the Cavs, and 2 close games. That series was 1 wide open Kyle Korver 3 pointer from going at least 6.

B) Richardson Jefferson, Deron Williams, & Iman Shumpert were a regular part of the rotation (and combined to go 4/30 from three in the Finals). We don't know for sure that Jeff Green, Jordan Clarkson, & Larry Nance will be an upgrade at the 7-9 spots... but its a reasonable possibility (and it won't take much to outperform them).

if Iggy is out that means more looney and bell and Love matches up so well against them----- ughh--- or the Cavs could play Thompson at C- and Love at PF and go big.

I wonder if Love plays if Thompson starts or if they go small.

is that confirmed?

one less fresh guy LeBron has to contend with.

Who guards LeBron on GSW now? @CitySushi @msgkings322 ? Thompson and Durant?

Looks like it.

Think it'll be Durant who gets the first crack at Lebron, but I think they could potentially alternate bodies they throw at him early and possibly switch Draymond on to him later on. I'm not sure if they'll put Draymond on him right away because they'll want to keep him out of foul trouble at all costs.

I'm assuming the Warriors will trot out Looney again as their starting center. I think with Tristan playing more, it opens up some time for West to get back into the rotation at some point.
