I still bring it up because that trade by Bruce and Dan, is what has brought us to the Alex Smith era ultimately.

During THAT time Bruce was a puppet. Dan and Shanny were making all the decisions. Shanny was controlling the drafts and FA. Now Danny has taken a back seat and its the Bruce and Jay show as far as draft picks and FA. When SM was here he had control over the drafts and FA. I agree with you that BA and Synder nixed the KC deal after the Kc's first full season.

Ask yourself this. Why wasn't Jay Gruden who had more power in the organization the last two years banging the table for KC to let him stay at a long term deal? IMO Bruce AND Jay did not want him.

And I will say again. I wasnt a fan of Smith before we traded for him. I wont hope he does poorly, but Im also not jumping on the Alex band wagon either. I expect if the team can stay relatively healthy, he is good enough to get us ot 8-8 again. But to me that means we down graded at QB for all the wrong reasons.

lol. now its 8 wins? that prediction keeps on going up. lol

Not really... Alex Smith is good for a 6-10 record at best if saddled with the talent and injuries we had last year. If the team stays healthy and improves, I think they might hit eight wins, but it wont be because we got Smith, it will be in spite of his style of play.

Now after the draft, I will tell you where I really think this team sits. And for the record, I dont think it will matter which Defensive player is there at 13 because if Ridley is there, I expect Bruce to make that the pick any way.

In my life time....

1) Loved Terry Allen. He was the first player I ever really liked
2) first AOL screen name "1OffenseRedskins"
That was when Brad Johnson was killing it... we know how that played out
3) I remember the team then had a great defense with no offense to speak of. Marcus Washington and the Daryl Gardner reclamation project was fun.
4) Sean Taylor. favorite Redskins of all time.
5) RG3 rookie season was the happiest season I've ever had as a Redskins fan.
6) Really really liked Kirk Cousins. Was by far the best Skins QB of my lifetime surpassing Brad Johnson. Him and Scot were really the only time I ever felt any hope that this team has finally turned a corner, aside from RG3 rookie season.

Hated the Spurrier, Brunnell, and above all could not stand Jason Campbell years. Campbell was the hardest QB for me to watch.

I guess I should reword my statement.... How can anyone under the age of 35 continue to support this franchise?

Be prepared for another QB that will be hard to watch. Alex asmith is a slightly better version of JC.

Broncos get:
S Su’a Cravens
4th-2018 (113th)...value according to chart is 68
5th-2018 (149th)...31.4

Redskins get:
4th-2018 (109th)...76
5th-2018 (142nd)...34.5
5th-2018 (163rd)...25.8
Conditional 6th-round pick in 2020...no value...equivalent of an undrafted FA.

So we basically traded Sua Cravens for 36.9 points...pick 137 in the draft...last pick in the fourth round.

But Dean claims to have called it. He claimed it would be a third rounder. Now he claims he thought fourth rounder. In hindsight, he was barely right in his own warped mind.

If you are changing players every four years or less...

What exactly the fuck are you building aside from Dans bank account as the fans end up buying new player jerseys every four years. I dont know about you, but I had 4 game jerseys from the age of 9 to the age 22 (when Dan bought the team). Now I dont dare buy a Jersey because the player will not be around long enough for it to matter.

And considering that of the FAs we lost

Cousins
Breeland
Murphy
Long

All were DRAFTED by this team.

So what are we building again??

In short I will say this.

Most people dont make this kind of move at the drop of a hat. Handled poorly on his part because IF he were having these types of thoughts, this is something he should have made aware to the team I dont know, in the MONTHS leading up to the final roster cuts.

Handled poorly by the team because they apparently had no idea. Which would lead one to think maybe the coaches and GM didnt or dont take the time to actually talk to the players outside of football talk.

So as I said, handled poorly on both sides.

Can’t believe you are defending this assclown Shark. FO isn’t in charge of babysitting players and catering to their every emotional need. Guy is a prima Donna. Good riddance to Sewer (coined by @skinsdad62)

you cant build a consistent winner when you let good young talent walk away going into their primes sure if guys dont pan out let them go

but you cant make the case that KC, BB TM and SL didnt pan out . hell for where he was drafted ryan grant worked out for us

now how do you build ? you keep acquiring draft picks and drafting with a spattering of FA's , you keep what is helpful and on the upswing and cut ties with those that do not

Yep you are right. Once Bruce deems someone unworthy, thats all we need as Redskins fans. If the assclown as you put it had some things he needed to take care of, a smart organization would protect their investment and try and help him work through it. Ours does what they normally do, go on the smear trail whilst also trying to get something in return for said player or person.

I was until it actually dawned on me that Bruce didnt really give a fuck, so why be pissed at the kid basically saying what quite a few others have said over the years... sure the money is good, but not good enough to put up with this shit.

the trade was a good deal in my opinion . the fact that we had to do it is concerning

our medical staff is seriously flawed

Redskins medical staff signed off on me to be the kicker. (Shhh don’t tell them I have had 2 unsuccessful knee surgeries by Army doctors. )

We will get a 3, 5,5, and 6...

I will just point out, Tampa fans rejoiced when Bruce Allen left.

Would liked to have gotten more this guy, but glad we got something.

I’ve never been a huge fan of 6th-7th rounders. Who knows... maybe we can package some of these extra picks to move up a bit higher in some of the middle rounds?

[sarcasm]If Cravens was a DT instead of a safety, we could have gotten 2 1sts for him. And then we could draft 3 DT's on the first round - which only makes sense except when it doesn't - which it never would. Third base.[/sarcasm]
