FWIW, I read in some article (maybe washingtonpost.com) that KC is going to talk directly to fans a few days after the season on a radio program. Do some q-and-a with the audience or something.

Why Kirk Cousins wants to talk with Redskins fans after the season ends

The only reasons I can think of for KC to do that are:

1) To pretend to care about the fans while simaltaneously solidifying his reputation as a stand up guy, so that when he signs elsewhere, he doesn't look bad.

2) to explain his position to the fans, so that he has a clear conscience when management pusses out on an actual offer, and he leaves.

3) to exert pressure on management to sign him and move on.

Personally, I think somebody on their way out doesn't agree to a radio show. Though I don't know anything about KC personally, it still doesn't seem like something he'd do.

I think it's a "good" sign, for those of us - myself included - who want the Redskins to pay him his fucking money already and move on.

My gut tells me that our FO will get their heads out of their asses and sign KC to a long term deal within a few weeks of the end of the season. Unfortunately my head tells me they fuck it up and he walks. I’m not sure which to believe.

Kirk does one of these every year the Monday after the final game.

Expect him to be cordial and reserved.

Expect him to say, I want to be where Im wanted and appreciated.

Expect him to say he loves the Redskins fans, but stop just short of saying he loves the Redskins.

Expect something along the lines of I would like to finish my Career a Redskin, but its really up to the Front Office at this point.

All Politically correct answers that will just feed the fire.

Note... never ever play poker with Cousins, because his poker face force is Yoda level no doubt.

Go with your head, you've clearly thought about it and used reason to conclude as you have. Your gut on the other hand may very well be.....Indigestion!:D

Von Miller praised Kirk Cousins after the game. Called him a great quarterback. It sounds like the Broncos are doing as much as they can right now to recruit the guy.

I'm pulling for you guys that your ownership will do the right thing. It's a shame for the fans to let a good (maybe great) QB get away.

Everything I've read about him indicates that the guy is pure class. He also happens to be a pretty good QB. It's mind boggling that he hasn't been signed. What exactly are the Redskins looking for to finally want Cousins long term? Cure for cancer?

Cousins has two strikes against him with this front office

1. He isnt a poster child considered Elite or likely to become elite

2. He was drafted by Mike Shanahan

#2 might actually be the bigger sin.

Kirk Cousins

Feel free to look at all the years in a quarterly breakdown. Notice he doesn’t stuff his stats in the fourth like some of the less informed claim.

First off. I apologize for the late response. I actually forgot about this conversation. A kind of apathy, though I doubt it last, has taken hold of me the last couple weeks as it concerns the Skins. That out the way.

I already know Kirk's 4th quarter stats were pretty decent and I wasn't trying to say I think he got lucky against Sea this year. I don't think that. I have thought it was fortunate for Kirk and the Skins that Gruden didn't get in the way during the Sea game. Like I've thought he has in other games.

But I thought it was unfair for you to cast the Skins defense as lucky back in 2016 far as plays made at the end of games in 2016. With the exception of Norman, who has dropped double the the amount of INTs that he's made since becoming a Redskin. I think when the opportunity to make a play presents itself, as rare as it may be for that too happen, our defense with the exception of Norman has done so. It just hasn't happened enough. Be that as it may.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kirk Cousins is far from the biggest thing wrong with the Redskins. IMO this has been his most impressive year w/o question or doubt QBing the Skins. I think he's answered all the questions, some of which were mine, as it concerns can he improve upon X and maintain Y. His improv skills which seemed minimal his first two years starting have improved immensely. While there were some lulls, his RZ play was good and at times great this season. His play under pressure improved noticeably (in the face of an oncoming rush and throwing when not properly set) His arm even appears to be stronger than its ever been and his accuracy was once again on point. His TD/INT ratio, which I said had to be 3:1 or 32 TDs/10, 11 INTs. Is close to that now 27 TDs/10 INTs and all this has been done with w/o question the worst offense around him in his 3 years as a starter. In part due to injury (looking mainly at the OL here) a subpar running game (which I thought was decent in some aspects, but needed improvement in others and neither came to pass with the exception of Chris Thompson's play) And w/o question the worst pass catching unit in his 3 years as starter. Doing so largely w/o security blanket Jordan Reed who even when playing was never really right/healthy.

I still don't think the defense got lucky though in 2016 at the end of games. But yeah, it was still an uber-shitty defense for the vast majority of time in 2016 and due to not coming up with m any plays late in games this year. Was actually worse overall in 2017 than they were in 2016. And that has been fucking depressing as hell.

If a team gets abused for 59 minutes, isn’t it Luck to get one play at the end of the game?

That's one way to look at it and I might agree with you if players were dropping INTs that they should've had. But other than Norman I can't think of another Skins player that has done that habitually. I think the real problem is that the opportunities come too far and in-between the abuse.

If the opportunity doesn’t come often, I would say it is lucky to be in place.

If the Skins let him out of Washington, they are truly run by morons.
What team wouldn't want a QB who consistently throws for 25-30 TD's and only 10-12 INT's?

Welcome to our nightmare called the Washington Redskins. Don't ever expect common sense to be applied in strategic decisions for this team.

Cousins numbers are equal or better than Staffords each year. Detroit paid Stafford a ton of $$ and nearly all experts applauded them for doing so. The Skins need to sign him quickly because he is prime right now. I have to think there will be teams throwing money at him left and right.
