I'd have to see how the turnover transpired first before making that determination. 2 of those 9 wins in 1 turnover games came against the Eagles last year for instance. Both were pick 6 INTs on Kirk. yet the Skins won each game. First Philly game this year the INT turnover in the red zone was on Kirk. The fumble Flecther Cox returned for a TD in the same game was not on Kirk, but a complete right side OL breakdown with Moses' man forcing the fumble and Schreff's man was Cox.

Last year lots of KC supporters never gave the defense credit when it was due. Sure they were shitty the majority of the time, but 1st NYG game, Cleveland game, 2nd Philly game, Minny game. The defense came up huge near or at the end to close out victories. Yet all the chatter was about Det and Cincy. Det was the defenses fault, but Cincy was a overall team thing.

This year its been reserved it seems. The defense finally made a play in the Ari game, but took breakdown at the worst possible to new heights. With their 2 minutes in 1st half and at the end of games breakdowns.

Most people give credit to the defense when they play well. If they play like shit most of the game and then get lucky at the end, they still played like shit.

If the defense plays well for 28 minutes at the beginning of each half and then the other team scores a TD during each of the other two minutes per half, did they really play well?

I disagree. I clearly stated that the defense was shitty the majority of the time last year, but they did come up with plays late in numerous games last year that benefited the Redskins winning-wise.

Why is it that the defense played like shit most of the game and then just got lucky at/near the end of games in 2016. But KC can be a very uneventful 19/28, 178 yd, 6.3 ypa, 0 TD/0 INTs for the first 58 minutes of a game. Go 2/3 for 69 yards, on the next 3 plays and suddenly he's dropping pinpoint passes right where he wants that only Redskins WRs can make a play on 20+ yards and 30+ yards downfield. And he's not lucky at all, he just somehow purposely flipped the switch on cuz it was necessary?

If the defense plays well for 28 minutes at the beginning of each half and then the other team scores a TD during each of the other two minutes per half, did they really play well?

Not enough details to make an informed decision. I'll say this. While it may bite me in the ass. If playing well for the first 28 minutes results in the opposition scoring no points. Yeah, I'd take the Skins holding teams to 14 points a game all day long.

Because I have already proven the theory of fourth quarter stats crap with KC.

I would agree with 14PPG being more than acceptable. We both know that isn’t what happens though.

Cooley said he has heard that the contract that Kirk is looking for from us is 3 yrs 90million with 75 of that guaranteed. If we give him a huge signing bonus what kind of cap hit are we looking at for yrs one, two, and three?

If true, the easiest way and most practical would have us with a cap hit of just around $26M for year one. $28 or 29 for year two, and $32 or so in year three. a 4th and 5th year would need to be added for accounting reasons, with an opt out clause for both sides in years 4 and 5.

Let me get some caffeine in me and I will see if I can make those numbers crunch. :D

So here you go

$50M signing bonus on a 5 year deal

BAse salaries of 10,10,10,12, 15

Roster bonuses in years 3 and 4 of 5M each.

Base salary in years 1 and 2 are fully guaranteed, year three is half guaranteed.

Five year deal with $75M fully guaranteed (Signing Bonus plus $25M in guaranteed salary).

Total value $107 with $75M fully guaranteed. years 4 and 5 would have to come with opt out clauses in order to make it work though. And his cap number would never go higher than $27M

Cap numbers 20,20,25,27,25

This would just be a base framework mind you. And Im basing this off of three years $90M with $75 fully guaranteed.

Ten million base salary! We could sign Krik, re-sign all our guys and still chase a Landry or the LG Norwell from Carolina. Thanks Shark! Makes sense for both sides, gives us an out if Kirk doesn't perform and if Kirk does perform he will still be young enough to get one more big payday. Makes too much sense for it to happen. Lol

Ten million base, 20 million cap hit.

BUt yea it would leave us about $34M to make other moves.

Some how i dont think its going to be that simple though. Thats just a starting point

shark is way better at this cap stuff than me so he can divide it up. If it was 20, 20, 25 including signing bonus shark then what is the dead cap value after year 3, $10 million or $5 million over two years if it is a 5 year contract?

It sounds like he wants a $30 mill per year with $25 mill per year guaranteed. However they can work that out.

The way I layed it out, we eat the bulk of $75M of guaranteed money in the first three years of the deal. So if he is released or opts out in year four we dont take a cap hit.

Now if we release him after two years, we would take a $10M Cap hit. But I put it together as 3 years $75M fully guaranteed, with to option years that either side could opt out of.

If Kirk is dead set on hiving the BIGGEST contract out there, Well I could still make it work with $75M fully guaranteed, but we would be committing to him for a 4th year for sure and years four and five would have some serious monopoly money attached to them.

Take it with a grain of salt Sty, since half the reason given for why we should in fact not resign Cousins is that he is simply asking for too much and will kill the cap.

Side note, I have long believed cost, the he is note a franchise QB, and Kirk simply doesnt want to be here are convenient dodges for the real reason some dont want him to be resigned.

Anyone have anything on KC, actually wanting to sign a LTD with the Skins? I don't watch ESPN anymore unless it's a game. I ran into Keim in New Orleans at the party on Bourbon Street on Saturday night before the game Sunday, and he gave me the impression KC doesn't want to be back in DC.
