I don't agree with the QB being more important now. They were important then too.

The QB today is far more important than it was in Gibbs’ era.

Really? Just so that I'm clear, execution was less important then than it is now, right?

The QB today is responsible for 60-70% of the offense. 30 years ago they were responsible for far less.

It's still execution

IN fact, N.O.B.O.D.Y here is willing to admit that C. Keenum is a better QB (key words coming) right now than Kirk Cousins including myself, but he's executing in his role in that offense at a high level and that's all you can ask for in this league then and now!

Hold on for a moment.........

Sorry...I just wanted to prepare myself for the numbers game and the excuses about health, injuries and poor defense that's coming my way. This is a results orientated game, we don't get extra credit for shit gone bad.

No the excuse is Keenum has two #1 receivers, good running game, and a good defense

Can’t say I really understand your point here about anybody willing to say Keenum is a better qb

It is true that Keenum is playing at a higher level right now than Cousin's, he is playing at a higher level than almost any QB in the league .... right now. It is also true that he has (at the moment) better WRs than Washington. It is also true that Washington has had a good running game the past two games. Lets hope that continues.

Having said that the Redskins put up 30 against Minnesota. They lost that game because of poor D. They were up 15 on New Orleans and lost that game because the D folded. They struggled for a half against the Giants offensively but in a large part won because of the D.

The only way to judge a QB against yours is to have them switch teams. As was stated,, MInn has better WR, better def and a better RB to make life a lot easier. Case and point in Dallas... Take away a good RB and have some injuries to your front line and you can become Jeff Beck quite easily. Do that here and KC remains a top ten QB. Are we really having this argument about Keenum? Don't get me wrong,, he's a fine QB in the right situation,, didn't he go 0-8 in Houston? Put the perfect storm in front of any QB and watch how they become Montana. Could you imagine KC behind the Dallas offensive front with their RB... and a top WR and you have a dynasty.

When being asked to execute 70% of the time instead of 50%, a larger burden is being placed upon you; this, you are more important.

He isn’t better than KC right now. Minnesota has no key injuries. Minnesota has the fifth ranked defense while we have the 21st. Minnesota gives up 17.7 PPG and we are giving up 24 corrected for defensive scores against us.

As for offense, Minnesota rushes for 20 yards more per game. KC is also leading Keenum in every offensive category while missing half his offense.

Hillary would have been a better president than the current disaster we have in office. Then again, a trained monkey would have been a better president than the bigoted orange cheetoh we current have in office. Literally any sane, rational human being capable of one iota of self-analysis and/or self-criticism would have been a better president.

You are right about one thing though: there is no getting through to guys who think this way. It's like convincing the idiotic inbred deplorable half-wits that "trickle down" economics is going to work for them someday, and that the Dotard-in-Chief - like all the corrupt rethuglicans before them - have anybody but their own interests at heart.

Also, perhaps you should take your political commentary to the politics thread.

:frusty:

This is a mental disorder

I'll agree with you on one condition........That we give zero credit to the offensive system that J Gruden has installed or to the other high quality players working in this system. Zero credit.
why is that an either /or . cant gruden have a decent system such as kyle shanahan who KC played for ? i dont have to give zero credit to anyone to say we are the browns without KC on this team right now . and that is what we would be

Sorry, snowflake, but the truth hurts.

Maybe try blaming something or somebody else.

Dude, express away... but keep it in the off topic thread. trust me, if you are looking for a response from a particular poster, all you got to do is @ mention them.... most will respond if directly asked.

Matt Ioannidis- Ioannidis led this group in snaps for the second straight week.

Matty I didn’t put up big tackle numbers (1 assist on a 3-yard run), but he was effective as a pass rusher. He registered 2 hits on Manning, with one of those coming on a third-down incompletion. This was the fourth multi-hit game of the year for Ioannidis, who ranks second on the team in hits (13).

Ziggy Hood- Hood played on over 50% of the snaps for the eighth consecutive game and set new season highs in assisted (2) and total tackles (4). All four of his tackles came on New York runs that gained 6 or fewer yards and failed to pick up a first down.

Old man Evander was also able to get some pressure in the game, which is a rare accomplishment for him.

Anthony Lanier- Lanier played on a career high 46% of the defensive snaps. His snap share has now increased in each of the past two weeks (36% > 42% > 46%).

He recorded an assisted and a solo tackle (2 total), with his solo tackle coming on an 8-yard sack on a third down in the fourth quarter.

This was Hood’s second straight game with a sack and his third consecutive contest with a QB hit.

Stacy McGee- McGee started for the seventh time this season, but played on his lowest snap total since Week 3.

That didn’t stop McGee from tying two other Redskins for the second most solo (4), assisted (2) and total tackles (6) on the team.

He amazingly made tackles on four consecutive plays on the Giants’ second quarter field-goal drive. Half of his takedowns came within 2 yards of the LOS and one of them went for a loss of a yard.

Stacy McGee leads all Redskins’ D-linemen with 29 tackles on the year. The next closest linemen in tackles is Terrell McClain, who has only recorded 19 tackles this season.

A.J. Francis- This was the first time the former Maryland Terrapin played in an NFL game since 2015. He took 14 snaps with the defense and set new career highs in assisted (2) and total tackles (2). That sounds crazy, but it really isn’t considering Francis only played in three games prior to Thursday.

He helped to stuff a Giants’ run on 2nd-and-1 for a loss of a yard. He recorded his other assist on a 4-yard run.

Francis was also able to get some pressure on Manning.

Terrell McClain- He missed his first game of the year with a foot injury. Hopefully this doesn’t become a trend for the 29-year-old. McClain has only played 16 games one time in his seven-year career.

Caraun Reid- Caraun Reid has been inactive for both of his games with the team.

The only time Reid played this season was when he took 18 defensive and 1 special teams snaps with the Lions in their Week 6 matchup with the Saints. He did not record any traditional stats in that contest, but he was able to generate some pressure on Drew Brees.

the good thing is lanier is getting pressure and even with one hand ionman is still making an impact
