He's probably going to go to Florida. No huge change in residence or lifestyle really. I still wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Nebraska. But if it's between Tennessee and Florida, my choice is Florida. But...I'd like to say...

Actually, Wisconsin head coaches leave to go to other schools. Christ to either Tennessee or UF...

Dave Aranda Wisconsin DC 2013 - 2015, left 2015 to join LSU

Prior to joining the Tigers, Aranda served in the same capacity at Wisconsin, where he led a Badgers defense that in a combined three-year span, ranked in the top five in the nation in the four major defensive categories – scoring, total yards, passing yards and rushing yards.

From 2013-15, Aranda's defense allowed an average of 289.4 yards per game – which ranked first in the nation over that span. His defense allowed 16.9 points (No. 2 nationally), 179.9 passing yards (No. 3 nationally) and 109.6 rushing yards (No. 4 nationally) over the three years, a stretch that saw Wisconsin post a 30-10 record, reach the Big Ten title game in 2014 and play in two New Year's Day bowl games.

In three years at Wisconsin, Aranda's defense pitched five shutouts (2 in 2013 and 2015, 1 in 2014) and didn't allow opponents to score more than a single touchdown in 18 games over that stretch.

Justin Wilcox Wisconsin DC 2016. head coach at California

It might seem odd that 50 weeks as a defensive coordinator in the Big Ten — and not at Michigan or Ohio State, by the way — would have done more to prepare Wilcox for the task in Berkeley than all the years spent at Washington, USC and, to a lesser extent, Boise State.

Ha ha, delusional at best. The potential is not better in Lincoln. Frost has access to better recruits and it’s not close. Plus, UCF will be joining a P5 conference. He basically has the same opportunity Gary Patterson had at TCU. He will be able to compete for NC’s and conference titles at UCF. He won’t have that opportunity at NU. Those days have been gone for almost 20 years now and are never coming back. He’ll be fired at NU within 5 years for not winning more than 9 games, never winning any conference titles, never going to any major bowl games, etc.

You are aware that Gary Patterson, himself, said he interviewed for Nebraska in 2007.

TCU's Gary Patterson recalls his Nebraska interview

“I interviewed and could tell they had already decided on [Bo] Pelini,” Patterson told ESPN’s Chris Low. “A lot of these ADs now are more interesting in hiring guys who’re going to win the podium than they are in hiring football coaches.”

I love that quote from Patterson, Nebraska's fired AD Eichoke wanted a hired a podium wiener in Riley.

Frost would be a good pick up for any school. I think he goes to Gainesville.

That doesn't mean anything. They can make their intentions known all they want but if another team already got him, they waited too long. I personally don't think they waited too long but wouldn't be surprised if teams like Florida and Tennessee contacted him already.

End/Thread and drop the mic.........Cornhusker fans are just having a hard time accepting their program is now the equivalent to Minnesota, Indiana, KU, Rutgers, Vandy, ISU, etc. You know, where your team might win a conference title once every 30 years, your team never competes for NC's and your season is over before it even starts.

I know and understand that.

At FSU we can and have had some dull moments, BUT because of the state being loaded with
talent we're always no more than 2 recruiting classes and good coaching away from the top again.

Texas is like that. Bama would be like that. LSU and Georgia like that. When your state is loaded
with good HS talent you're never that far away.

But Nebraska lost a grip that they had had for 35 years. A good pipeline into Texas an California.

Tennessee isn't far behind NU. They don't play that great of HS football in Tennessee either.
Oregon probably the same, but they're close to California.

The infrastructure of recruiting has to be totally rebuilt at those schools. New contacts with HS
coaches established, in states far away. That's not an easy task and any prospective new coach
is gonna know their shortcomings. Especially if they have coached or played there before.

Frost can coach. I don't think anybody believes he can't, BUT he still has to have players that fit his
system. He needs a dual QB and some quick scatbacks. (Oregon type players). I don't believe Nebraska
that UT or NU are spilling over with that type of player. They grow those types on trees in Florida.

I wouldn't bet on Frost staying at UCF after this year, but you never know. If UCF were to dig
deep and offer 3 mil...then unless the school is from Texas they better be willing to offer 5 mil
because there are no state taxes in Florida. He maybe like Peterson. He maybe happy where he's
at. If I was in his position I would certainly act like that...just to up the bidding.

This is a career move for him and UCF is very young. He is only starting 2 senior linemen on offense
and 3 seniors on defense. All of his skill returns. He could want to solidify himself a bit more.

We'll know pretty soon.

I doubt that this just happened today. I am sure there have been discussions before. I doubt Frost was going to accept a new job when his undefeated season isn’t even over especially when knows Nebraska and other places could be pursuing him. Would be dumb to take first offer when more coming.

is that legal?

I am sure back channel stuff like this happens a lot between attorneys and agents

I’m sure Riley has been told but it won’t be official till after Iowa game.

With Florida and Tennessee jobs open, who will end up where?

When UCF’s season ends, he’ll evaluate his options through the prism of where he’s most likely be able to win a national title. The answer to that would still leave Florida as the most likely option, as the soon-to-be open job at Nebraska, his alma mater, simply doesn’t have the same recruiting base as Florida. Frost has developed a good reputation among high school coaches in the state in a short period, which could lead to a smooth transition to Gainesville.

I'm still hoping for a miracle that he will stay at UCF because he sees FSU and UF turning to shit and UCF and Miami are now the premier schools in the state of Florida!

Mora's buyout is too expensive atm for UCLA to afford to get rid of him.

i disagree - UCLA is one of those schools that if they need to pay an expensive buyout, they will.

IMO, the only thing that will save his job is beating USC next week.

Ya think Mora is getting ousted? I think his buyout is 14.5 million (could be totally wrong) but no way UCLA pays that.

They don't give a fuck if basketball or football does good anymore

i said it's a dark horse. one of the ways it could not end up happening is if Mora keeps his job.

But i don't think that they are afraid of the mega-buyout number in Westwood. And they definitely do care about their sports programs.

Just crazy how neither sport have had consistently good teams in the new millennia. You'd think with their resources and location they could muster up some respectable programs.

From 2005-2007 bball did have some great seasons, but the best they've done since then is sweet 16.
