Then there's the fact that everyone is completely overlooking the Spurs acting like they're a middling Western conference playoff team.

They're a middling regular season team to me. Playoffs are a different animal when you can game plan accordingly and use the full arsenal at your disposal. I feel they'd be much more dangerous as a healthy 4-5 seed than a 2.

...and Calderon bout to get shitted on...AGAIN.

Hmmm... I didn't realize even with Kay Felder and Edy Tavares left out... that still leaves 1 too many.

IT, Rose, Calderon
Wade, JR, Korver, Shump
LeBron, Jae, Cedi
Love, Green, RJ
TT, Frye, Zizic

Calderon would make the most sense... except that IT is out for 2.5 months leaving no true backup PG.

The Cavs would avoid a signifigant chunk of tax by trading open a spot for Wade, vs waiving it open.... so I wouldn't surprised to see a trade go down this week. Shump + Frye for Faried?

Problem with trading Frye and Shump, you've given up just about all of your 3-point shooting sans JR and Korver; that's with the understanding that Shump's not that good anyways from 3.

You're gonna want to cut Jeff Green by January 15th. Should probably do it sooner than later.

lol. Apparently Lue loves him some Jeff Green, so hopefully he isn't too terrible.

Warriors reportedly reached out to Wade too. Talks were brief because he said he still wanted significant minutes and the Warriors couldn't guarantee that. If you told me this in 2011, I would have told you to stop smoking so much crack.

How fucking crazy is that. It's just insane to me to think that the Warriors, a once clusterfuck of an organization is what it is today. I don't take any of their success for granted.

Kings signed Marcus Williams and the 76ers signed Emeka Okafor. Did we time travel back to 2008?

Agreed. I'm fine with them both starting, but Lue will need to stagger their minutes opposite each other as much as possible, imo.

JR (and Korver) is probably a better complement to Lebron at SG. Even if Wade starts over JR -- I'd see Wade (and Rose) having a big role with the 2nd unit when Lebron is out. (and JR being on the court a lot with Lebron)

It turns ugly when JR tries to create his own offense. The Cavs have a lot of versatility & depth now.

I think Wade on that second unit will be good against teams that are mediocre talent at best. But there's no way Cleveland's second unit will be good against GS second unit.

Also, I thought Wade wanted to sign w/ a team that could offer him starting minutes? Do you think Cleveland is willing to do that? If so, who gets benched?

Clippers gave up a 1st round pick for 2 1/2 months of Jeff Green.

Roughly 2 months and 11 days of that he was tuuuuuuuuuurrible.

* pauses in deep contemplation *

Is it too soon to start up the fire Doc chants?

Great signing with Thomas in bubble wrap.

I'd be tempted to start Rose and Wade in the backcourt much to Smith's chagrin, I'm sure...lol

Can't be any worse than having Dirk start ahead of you at Center...lol

Love Dirk.

But, Center?

Good grief.

I think Wade will help, but only if used correctly.

The Heat were not playing well down the stretch of 2014 with LBJ and Wade in lineups together. Wade anchoring the second unit could be a better fit. Smith's floor spacing fits best with the starters. Especially with IT out early in the season.

Smith or Rose.

Wade can also be the 3rd pg in a pinch.

2nd by December when the tissue paper holding Rose's knees together starts to thin.

You crack me up with your metaphors.

Of course I agree about Rose - so if they get Wade you think Rose should still be starting in IT's place?

By far the best part of the article. Showing us how stupid Mr. Wade is.

One interesting angle to this story is this: When Wade rejected the Heat’s two-year, $41.5 million offer 15 months ago - believing the Heat owed him more - he thought he was leaving for $6.5 million more over the course over those two seasons by taking a two-year, $48 million offer from Chicago.

But Wade ended up sacrificing $8 million as part of his Bulls buyout.

So between the $39.5 million he will make from Chicago, and the $2.3 million he will get from Cleveland, Wade will make $41.8 million over last season and this season -- barely more than the $41.5 million he could have received by staying in Miami, an offer he found upsetting and unacceptable at the time.

And Wade actually lost in money in the deal, considering Florida has no state income tax and Illinois and Ohio do.
