I always thought Kaepernick was a fucking moron, and that's before his bullshit last season. As soon as he praised Castro for the way he runs Cuba (my fiance is Cuban, and her uncle has horror stories from his daily interactions with Fidel), I knew I was 100% right in my stance. Everyone falling behind Kaepernick to me is the blind leading the blind.

I understand the message he was trying to send.

But, he went about it all wrong. He could have just released a statement about the out of control police brutality, even if I don't agree it was that in ALL cases.

It did get the desired attention though in a bastardized sorta way I suppose.

But, yeah...

The motherfucker didn't even bother to vote.

How you gonna talk about change when you don't even participate?

He almost had a job with the Ravens still his GF spoke up.....

Yep, and if he were a starter and playing well, there would be no issue. Like Giselle talking about concussions. If Tom Brady were a backup, he'd be gone asap.

And people who are claiming it's because he's an outspoken black man, clearly have no clue about football coaches.

Kaepernick doesn't have a job because he's an outspoken backup quarterback, not because he's black. The one thing that every football coach, at every level, hates more than anything are distractions. A backup quarterbacks job is to stand on the sidelines, hold the clipboard, wear a baseball cap, keep his mouth shut and be ready to play if needed (and the coaches are hoping he's not needed). The second the press start seeking him out for interviews/quotes, his days are numbered.

It's the same reason Tim Tebow is no longer in the NFL.

If he earns a starting job and plays well, he can say whatever the fuck he wants and he will be considered "a man of principle who is trying to make a difference in the world."

Until then, to paraphrase the great Lavar Ball...he needs to stay in his lane.

I don't know if our President is pandering for Alabama votes for his colleague, or if he actually believes what he's saying. What I do know is that he used harsher language to describe Kaepernick and others protesting, than he used for the Neo-Nazi who killed Heather Heyer. I know what some of you might be thinking..."Who is Heather Heyer?"

Cot damn you hit it on the head. Every day I hear about Kaep being better than every backup QB in the NFL. The sad thing is, they don't realize what you just said. Kaep and Tebow are similar now in their followings that are their own worst enemies in terms of trying to temper the distractions. Also, it didn't help that Kaep's girlfriend likes to tweet a lot.

When you find the quote where he said he quit because he was tired, then you will have something to support your point.

I mean, Magic's career ended early, then he came back a few years later too.

There is no proof or no quote.

But, you are holding up MJ and Kobe as examples of why not to rest.

One had a career altering injury at 35 that may or may not have been a result of overworking himself, and the other retired twice by 36.

Just saying.

I don't know how the trio is going to play together.....I'll hold my comments for now.

Will be interesting.

One thing is certain. They are top 2 in the NBA in terms of talent. I think probably more talent than Cleveland. We will find out if Russ can lead a good team. Although he wanted to be, he wasn't the focal point when KD was on the roster. He is now. Anything short of the West Finals I think would be a severe disappointment for this roster.

Depth and ability not just to share, but to actually facilitate for each other will determine their end success. Neither Russ or Melo have really been known to make teammates better.

I'm hoping he felt really hollow holding that MVP trophy while Durant was holding his FINALS MVP trophy or that he got his wild ass solo act out of his system last Season and will do what it takes to win.

If not, this will be a spectacular shit show that could have all 3 fleeing at Seasons end.
