whiteside plays in the east but sitll wont make it. lol

Theres an excellent chance Whiteside makes it IMO if the Heat have a decent record.
We all know how the system works.
If they pick a traditional C, it will be him.

Ill bet you hes at least considered.

You think Tristan might at least out rebound opposing point guards this year?

Any bets on IHOP games played over/under this season?

yah...i think thats a repeatable strategy too.....lol

maybe Bam- your poor mans TT, becomes the next Kawhi! they were taken about the same place in the draft. LOL

And you keep avoiding the question on why teams like the Suns, Kings, 76ers, etc... are always in the lotto yet never seem to take the next step. The only teams that looked to have built solely through the draft and have had deep success are the Thunder when they still had KD and Harden, along with the current Warriors.

You love being ignorant.
The game is an exhibition at its worst.
Did you watch last year?
If the premise is to run up and down the court and watch players launch 1000 3 pt shots and now maybe even a 4 pt, then Whiteside wont be there.

As far as top C's in the NBA, hes right there near the top of the list.

the center position is all but dead in the NBA

the traditional plodding center that cant defend on the perimeter has become a liability. The back-to-the basket center is simply AWFUL ineffective offense.

There is a reason why there are only a handful of traditional centers left in the game and why Whitesides effect on winning is negligble at best

-he cant shoot
-he cant defend on the perimeter
-he cant pass

in todays game- that adds up to a lot of poop. lol.

Gasol and Lopez--- two of the ones that arelef t- what did they shoot from 3 last year? Gasol is a GREAT passer. Those are guys that have changed their game to adapt to the times.

maybe 20 years ago Whiteside would be good. In tdays game- hes a liability.

Marc Gasol shot 39% from 3 last year

Brook Lopez shot 35% from 3 last year

Towns shot 37% from 3 last year

Horford shot 36% from 3 last year

just a few examples.

If you want to be a 'traditional' center in todays NBA- you better be freaking Rudy Gobert.

Advanced stats show that Whiteside has a profound impact on the defensive side of the ball. Try again.

how many "traditional" centers are there in the NBA today?

a center that cant pass, cant shoot, and cant defend on the perimeter like Whiteside?

Gortat, Jordan, Drummond, Mozgov, Hernangomez, Valunciunas, RLopez, Monroe, Dedmon, Vucevic, Chandler,

Noel and Capela can play multiple positions, as can Adams- those 3 are both GREAT at getting out and defending the perimeter on switches.

so....actual centers like Whiteside? there just arent that many in the entire league anymore. You just cant get away playing a guy that (i) cant shoot an outside shot, (ii) cant switch and flash out to the perimeter, and (iii) is a ball stopper that cant pass.

Maybe a dozen guys like that who start in the entire league?

guys like Lopez, Gasol, Gasol - all can shoot 3's, and are very good passers.

i mean,

when you cant pass, cant shoot, and cant defend the perimeter as a center- you are really not going to be helping your team that much.

a lot of these "traditional" centers can do at least 1 of those things....the really good ones can do 2 or all of those things.

Like Vucevic isnt fast enough to guard on the outside, he has a decent jumper but nothing near a consistent game changing threat--- but he can at least pass and make plays.

Brook Lopez is WAAAY to slow to guard on the perimeter...but hes a pretty solid passer and pretty nice outside shooter.

Marc Gasol is an excellent 3 pt shooter and passer.

Jokic is one of the best playmaking centers i have seen.

Cousins is a great passer with a developing 3 pt shot.

Myles Turner is the rare guy that has potential to be able to do ALL THREE somedday @HurricaneDij39

Noel, Capela, Adams all are great athletes who can guard on the perimeter, get up and down the court- but none can shoot or pass really to save their lives

there are very very few centers in the league that cant do any of those 3 things- and Whiteside is one of them--- Drummond, Mozgov, Valuncuinas, Whiteside, Hernangomez (though Hernangomez is kinda ahtletic/slick), Dedmon, Chandler.

Gobert is a true-throw back. DPOY. amazing rim protector and rebounder--- and while he only averages 1.2 apg- hes not a true black hole there.

.

The only reason people chose Gobert over Whiteside last year was because of Utahs record at the time.
Statistically over the last 2 seasons the difference is negligible.

Wasnt Drummond in your top 15 NBA player list last year?

You're as usual, all over the road.
Too bad for you, some of us here have good memories.

As well as on offense.
Why shoots 3's if you are 7' tall and can dunk over people at will?

Of course.
If Gobert was on the Heat, you'd be on Whitesides dick.
They make a very similiar impact on games.

I'm willing to bet that if there was any rumor of Whiteside joining the cavs, wiggy would be calling him the best center in the league.
