@donaldson79 how would you rate the attendance last night? Apparently, the Star-Telegram feels that it sucked, and wrote an article saying this is a sign the market doesn't give a shit about the WC race.

Go ahead and diagnose me with Otani fever.

I heard some pretty interesting/funny info on him today.

Apparently, money means damn near nothing to him, and he lives on $1,000 a month which his parents send to him out of his account. He takes a team paid for cab to and from the part every game, lives in a small, team paid for "dorm like place" and he said something like, "How much money do I need. All I want to do is make enough so I can keep playing baseball."

But the guy, and unfortunately I don't remember what station I was listening to doesn't think Ohtani will b/c a #1 pitcher, and his value will be as an everyday player, not as a pitcher.

The announced attendance was a little over 20,000. My buddy and I guessed somewhere between 14-15,000. Wasn't great, wasn't horrid IMO.

I don't know if this is a sign the market doesn't care about the WC, but what-the-hell. We've all been watching this roller-coaster of a team all season too. I want us, as do most, to win and let the chips fall where they may. But I can certainly understand why the "market" isn't exactly ecstatic about this team. That's kind of my bottom line.

Duane punted Gonzalez to the curb after 40 pitches. Unfortunately he may have been right. But the fans all around us had no wind in our sails after the 2nd inning. Couldn't blame me/us either.

15K for a Tuesday during the school year for a .500 team seems pretty good to me.

Ya know, my buddy & I felt the same way.

And as a point of reference, Hitzges made the observation that the Indians, when going for their 19th straight victory, had about 19,000 show up for a game with a temp of 66 degrees, and a team which is a serious contender to win the WS.

Honestly - until baseball reels in the cost of going to a game, they're going to have to get used to smaller crowds, especially during certain parts of the season. $20 just to park?

and yet they continue to bring them in: 2017: Cashner and Ross.
I 'm convinced you don't watch games. Cashner has been extremely good. Ross was not but he was cheap and was worth the risk as was Cashner.

What you say may very well be true........But the observation/question was about our fan base giving a crap if we won the WC position. And if our fans don't care, then what does it say about the Indians fans?

Did I misinterpret, or am I off track?

Ballpark question:

What's the current seating capacity at the globe and what will be the seating capacity at the new park?

I'm hoping we don't lose too many seats, because a big reason that people don't go is the extremely hot weather.

If we lose seats, the Rangers would probably be able to charge more if they're getting sell outs every game.

I'd like to see the ticket buyers keep some of their benefits like easy access and affordable seats, but we will see.

I only go to one game a year, but that's one thing I've always liked about the Rangers. Easy to get good seats at an affordable price.

Weather observations and economics in their finest and rawest of hours.

Gotta tell ya.....last night was maybe the most pleasant night I've ever spent in Arlington watching a baseball game, regardless of park. Absolutely wonderful night.....Of course it never hurts that I met.....Oh, oh, I've already told that story, so I'll move along. ha ha ha

Well thank you sir......And seriously, we have a lot of players who do, and perhaps could/are valuable "utility-positional players" don't we?..............Robinson/Gallo/Rua and potentially DDJ?.....Good thing to have IMO.
