Truth!

And - by the way, I also believe Bowlen belongs in and hopefully gets in while he can still relish it.

yeah I'm hoping he gets in this next year. Somebody brought up that he might not get the nomination because the selection committee doesn't want to pick 3 straight owners. If that is why they don't select him I think that is ridiculous. Pick the best candidate and be ok with it. Jerry deserved it. I was hoping Bowlen would win it over Jerry mostly just like you said because maybe he could still somewhat enjoy it. I'm not sure though what his state is right now. I know he hasn't been seen at any Bronco event in the last couple of years so my guess is it has reached a point he couldn't even receive the award himself but owuld have to have his wife receive it on his behalf.

Now if Kraft could just get into some sort of role to have an impact on the NFL,

Broadcast Committee - Chairman

Management Council Executive Committee

NFL Network Committee

Finance Committee

Compensation Committee

And - to be fair, I think Kraft gets in at some point. You simply cannot ignore 5 trophies. That was pretty much the criteria for DeBartolo getting in. The bar has been set.

You do this every time. I say Kraft will eventually get in but you hear it as "Kraft is trash and does nothing for the league." He is doing plenty. Jerry and Bowlen have just done it longer and in a time that the league wasn't the most popular thing around.

No what you did is attempt to downplay Kraft's contritubtion. The league is where it is for the last 2 decades directly due to Kraft. On top of that he has built the most dominant team in the NFL since he took ownership.

No what I'm saying is that Kraft has learned from 2 of the best to become a great owner and advocate for the league to be what it is today. He has helped pick up the slack with Bowlen out of commission and be that owner that both players and other owners respond to. He is doing lots for the league as did both Jerry and Pat. They have just done it longer.

"Robert Kraft, founder, chairman and CEO of The Kraft Group and owner of the New England Patriots, will receive the 2016 Chairman’s Award at the 26th annual Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame.

Kraft, who will be feted at the Hall of Fame gala on Oct. 18, first started in broadcasting in 1982 as an investor in New England Television Corp. before gaining control of Boston’s WNAC-TV, now WHDH, in 1986. The mogul bought the Patriots in 1994 and has since served as chairman of the NFL’s Broadcast Committee. He also was one of three founders of Major League Soccer in 1996.

The Kraft Group’s holdings include the New England Revolution, Gillette Stadium, Patriot Place and more than 100 private equity investments."

23 years, and you act like it's recent.

No I'm not acting like it is recent. I'm acting like he hasn't been an owner as long as Jerry or Pat. And wow he took over in 1994. Well 1993-1994 was when Bowlen was in charge and was the one that brought Fox and NBC into the fold. Again the tv deals were just handed to Kraft after they negotiated the biggest deals in sports history. Nice way to walk in where you don't have to do too much for the first few years because all the deals were already signed and the league experienced its huge growth to top of the sports world during that time. So then by the time that Kraft has to negotiate the next deal the NFL is actually the most popular sport in America and tv companies are at the mercy of the league.

Pre Kraft NFL worth ~3 Bil, post Kraft in excess of ~60 bil.

You're right, he had nothing to do with it.

I have no doubt BB and Kraft will make the hall, my question is will TB12 be a unanimous first ballot entry or will some dweeb from Denver or Indy vote no.

Seriously man there is just no talking to you when it comes to anything Pats related. I mean not like during that time Jerry didn't help bring in a bunch of new sponsors and merchandise companies. Not like right when Kraft came into the league as an owner that they had just finished signing a new $18 billion tv deal. I mean day 1 when he walks in the league went from $3 billion to close to $20 billion just because of the new tv deals alone. He had nothing to do with those negotiations. He walked in at the perfect time to see the boom of the league. A year later and the cost of the franchise goes crazy.

Kraft piggy backed off of what Jerry and Pat Bowlen did to set up tv deals. Those two are the ones that made tv deals of today so easy for the NFL. They can ask for the moon and tv stations will give them the sun. I'm sorry but that job is so easy now to be on the tv committee. Back in the 80's and 90's not so much when the NFL was the 3rd most popular sport in America.

Was gonna write this, but instead I'll just say "this"

And it's like saying Tom Brady piggy backed off of Drew Bledsoe.

I would say a better way of saying it would be Steve Young piggy backing off of Joe Montana. The success was already in motion. Doesn't mean the 2nd guy is bad by any means but Jerry and Pat are legends among the owners.

And the success was already in motion with Drew as well.

Big difference between a good QB moving onto a legendary QB and that of a legendary QB moving onto another legendary QB. Montana changed the game and the expectations forever in this league. Same thing that Bowlen and Jones have done.

I'm still not a fan of owners getting into the Hall of Fame, how Jerry Jones got in still baffles me. To me it's for the guys who strap them on and the coaches who sleep in their offices. But if Jones is in then obviously Kraft should be as well.
