So the Celtics were able to draft Bird, although he was returning to college?

Stupid question, is that still permitted?

(Not that it matters because every guy that is ready to jump, jumps)

No, hasn't been permitted for a long time.

Either way it was his decision to leave & not comment on it. So, they're still stupid for letting that ruin their relationships.

Why? It's their personal relationship. What position are any of us in to question anything they feel?

They didnt' have the worst record in the NBA either.

You do know know that there is an internet where you can learn the truth if it's not too much of an inconvenience.

I don't think them having the 2nd worst record in the NBA demonstrably changes the point. The Cavs went from 61 wins to 19 wins in a single season because of one player leaving.

And Jordans Bulls would mop the floor with any of those Cavs teams. Especially the one that you're talking about.

What is your point?

Jordan's 86 Bulls would have wiped the floor with those Cavs teams?

The early Bulls teams didn't face great competition either. Two hall of famers can carry you a long way at that time.

That Bulls team had 2 Hall of Famers that were on the all time 50. What other teams in the league could say that at the time? The Celtics had a geriatric team by that time. The Pistons were still good but getting older.

The early Bulls championships were during a time of transition in the league. The big bad teams of the 80s were fading away and the new challengers were quite ready to challenge(ie Pacers, Rockets. 3 teams won titles in the 90s. 4 teams won titles over a 13 year span.

They beat the Pistons Bad Boys, Magic's Lakers, Ewing's Knicks, Drexler's Blazers and Barkley's Suns. What more could you have asked of them?

They can feel anyway they want but that doesn't make it right. And I said it was stupid to let it ruin their relationships - because those are the actions of high school kids.

Pretty sure we were talking about the championship versions.

My bad. I thought we were talking about the non-championship Cavs teams during Lebron's first tenure there. Never mind.

They were a great team. They won 6 championships over the course of 8 years. I don't think anyone is questioning that. Seems that some folks want to talk out of both sides of their mouths regarding the quality of those teams(you are not one of those people).

Lebron has won, and lost, 6 straight championships against Hall of Famers as well.

Eh, maybe he already knew what his reaction would be...clearly RW isn't the most mature dude.
This is true.

But, if they were as close as he says, it should have gone down more like this.

This is how men who care about each other behave.

"I understood where he's coming from," Bryant said. "I went over and hung out at his pad for hours, and we just talked. It was a pride thing for him. It was like, we're brothers. He said, 'Kobe, I want to play with you forever, but what [Lakers] management did to me is just disrespectful.'

"I said, 'Pau, c'mon with your silly pride thing. They're giving you [a lot of money]. Put that to the side.'

"He was like, 'Dude, no. It's principle at this point.' I think, as his brother, I understand completely where he's coming from -- bringing two championships here and then to hear his name being thrown in trade rumors all day long and have [Lakers coach Mike] D'Antoni bench him.

"So I understand where he's coming from. Listen, we're people before we're basketball players, especially for a player that brought so much to this organization, I completely understand where he's coming from. If I didn't understand it, we wouldn't be as close as we are to this day."

Ehh, but those first 3 bulls teams were not stacked in any way. Horace was the only one that was a solid consistent contributor. The last 3 featured more names, but those names were role players that were good at their niche
Pippen and Grant were much better than anyone Lebron ever had during his first 7 years in Cleveland. Lebron was basically told as an 18-24 year old that he was to take the entire team of absolute nobodies on his shoulders and win titles. Hell, MJ was a few months shy of 22 before he ever even stepped foot onto an NBA floor.

Pippen is one of the best players of all-time, especially defensively, while Horace Grant averaged almost a double-double for their first 3-peat. The best player Lebron had for 7 years (SEVEN YEARS) was a volume scorer in Antawn Jamison who was already in his mid-30s when he first played in Cleveland. Anyone who tried comparing Lebron's original supporting cast in Cleveland to Jordan's during either 3-peat is insanely stupid and clearly knows nothing about Lebron before he went to Miami.

He played with that man for damn near a decade and claimed to love him like a brother, his words.

That was cowardly.

Played with him and made some noise too. That's why he left and didn't say shit to anyone in OKC. KD knew he was being a little bitch

I get that, but the way that RW reacted tells me that they probably weren't as close as most thought-or as close as Pau & Kobe.

And even if RW felt like KD had ducked him he could've picked up the phone & had a private conversation with him about it rather than act out in the media and/or when they met on the court. I think that's the reason close relationships break up in most cases. People don't know how to communicate about things that are not easy to talk about and so they clam up. Nothing gets resolved that way. I believe it's important to be able to call people out-especially the ones closest to you to help keep the relationship honest & healthy.

This was why I bullshitted your post:
I would rather go to a smaller company and try to build something.
This is a complete and total crock of steaming bullshit.
