Honestly, I don't think they could have really gone wrong either way. I think they made the right pick though. Once Russell was allowed to just play, he started looking a lot more like a #2 pick.

In today's NBA, it's a lot easier to get by with an average/below average center than it is with an average/below average PG.

But wouldn't you rather have a Randle/Okafor front court? With Clarkson running point.. I think that would be a great core.

Depends. Clarkson is more of a combo guard, where Russell is more of a true point guard. Because Clarkson is a combo guard, the Lakers should have a pretty versatile front court with those 2. Plus, there will be centers available via FA that would fit just as well with Randle as Okafor.

What happens to the Clippers won't have anything to do with the Lakers. Never has, never will. The right coach and adding a top FA or 2 will have a lot more to do with how soon the Lakers return to contention than anything that happens with the Clippers.

I think it will depend on how good Russell turns out. If he turns out to be a good point guard well above the average, then it was a good gamble, but average or below will equal Okafur was the better choice

Swaggy is a horrible speller. Iggy was very nice to point out this error before it was too late. She must still love him.

Good luck to whatever team ends up with him. Lakers will try to trade him but will most likely just have to stretch him.

I don't think Okafor is a good fit with Randle. The better fit next to Randle is a more defensive type center like Whiteside. A Whiteside/Randle frontcourt would kill everyone on the boards.

What's also sad is that it looks like that tattoo artist was apparently prepared to finish the product without noticing the error. Also Iggy Azalea doesn't strike me as someone that notices spelling errors so props to her I guess.
