Bump this thread up next April.

My top 50 player rankings will be out in September and hopefully Lillard will be traded by then...

Never really viewed Dame is this regard, but whether he realizes it or not, he unfortunately made this NBA summer all about him. Not because he demanded a trade in itself, but because he did so less than a year after he signed an extension.

The extra money further complicated his trade options, and Miami is the only team desperate enough to pay him 60 million dollars during his age 36 season in 2026-27.

LOL at desperate.

If he didn't say Miami is where he wanted to go....more teams would be attempting to trade for him.

I’m not saying it’s impossible.

But, what are you basing this off of?

I think they are very different kinds of players.

Tyrese is the better assist guy, Dame the better scorer.

This is like saying Isiah Thomas, Bad Boy Edition, or John Stockton was better than Steph Curry.

Not sure how you quantify that argument.

Dame is a top 10 player in this league. Halliburton may not be top 30. You continue to be stupid.

He might have better numbers. The Pacers are garbage so there’s no one else to put up numbers.

He better for Indiana to have a chance. Even at their best they were in middle ground. Not good enough to contend, not good enough to tank. Worst place

I would say it depends on 1 major thing.

Will Lillard's injuries:

1. Have him in a better position because he will be well rested and less miles on his body the last few years?

or

2. Have a cumulative effect of hurting his body and make him more susceptible to injury going forward and rob him of athleticism similar to what has happened to Klay Thompson

if what comes to pass is closer to #2...then it is a reasonable expectation that Haliburton- a young star just starting to enter his prime- could pass Lillard. If Lillard comes back fresh, rested and motivated and healthy without having had his athleticism reduced- then Lillard should hold out another couple years.

Hard to see which one will be true.

Personally, I hope OP is right. If he is, that could possibly be financially beneficial to me.

Tyrese is from my neck of the woods. If he blows up and makes bank, that creates greater potential for him to pump more private money into my community and therefore possibly reduce taxpayer burdens. Go Tyrese!

Alright then, I challenge you to name my a team other than Miami that would give up assets for an aging Dame and his gargantuan contract...

You can't. Of course.

It's the same reason a much better player (KD) could not be traded this time last year.

LOL @ top 10. Top 15 on a good day.

Ten years and I know exactly how this board works.

If Tyrese continues his ascension toward the elite, this thread will never be touched again. If Dame helps lead Miami to the #1 seed, this thread will be bumped a lot sooner than April.

I'm inviting it to be bumped regardless...

A Philly fan calling the Pacers a trash organization is starting to become ultra-rich.

Morey is bad for the NBA right now.
