Yup. And Barry Bonds hitting moonshots. it was one of the best WS the past 20 years. Don't know why people can't remember it. I still think the 2001 WS was the best followed by last season though.
Once the Mariners lost that year, my baseball season was over.

Not sure if I watched any of that series tbh. I loathed NY and hated Louis Gonzalez even more.

I was glued to the 02 series. KRod was incredible.

Maybe right now cause it still wasn't that long ago. WS is every year tho. 21 game winning streak has now happened twice in the history of MLB. Obviously the World Series matters to the fans of Cleveland and the streak won't mean as much if they don't win it. 25 years from now that might not be the case.
Id trade the streak for the pennant any day

Of course you would. Any fan of this team would. All I'm saying is way down the road, new fans aren't going to brag about the 2017 WS. They could, however, brag about having the longest winning streak in the history of baseball

I disagree. Maybe it's just me though. I know the 1916 Red Sox and 1935 Tigers won the World Series. I didn't know the 1916 Giants and 1935 Cubs had long winning streaks.

Until just this second, I had completely forgotten the Angels won the World Series in a recent year, let alone 2002. However, any time a long winning streak starts for any team (7-8 or so), the A's instantly come to mind.
Maybe it's just me then. I can recall every World Series winner throughout the game, let alone one that happened in my lifetime.

You are a much bigger fan of the game than me as well so that could affect things.
