As long as Uncle Phil keeps writing those checks and uses the Nike influence on recruits and their parents, they'll be "relevant" in the perspective of the promotion of the Nike brand which is by far the #1 reason for their existence since the mid 90s. Taggart will be under incredible pressure from Phil to recreate the Kelly levels of success, but we learned very well from the results of the NCAA investigation what got them that level of success. Here comes the longest yard rosters and the player buying again. They just can't expect to be in the top tier of the PAC without resorting to these methods. It's always going to be the story of this "school".

My bad, you're right. "Only" half of your conference had losing records. Out of those 29 wins in OOC, weren't 10 or 12 of those against FCS teams? 3 more were against Hawaii. Against teams that mattered, PAC teams were whipped thoroughly. 3-3 bowl record I believe, in which your 1st and 2nd best teams were spanked.

Oregon had 3 on the all academic team (first second and hm) for basketball to UW 0
Oregon and UW had the same amount on the first team in Football.
1 of Oregons commits from this weekend has offers from like half the ivy league.
but yeah they only go for players who can only sign with an X.

Player buying? 1 player linked to all that who never played a down for Oregon before transfering because he got no playing time behind players who were better.

But I wouldn't count out Oregon just yet. The pac is an overall weak conference. Over half of their teams had losing records last year and a lot of them were taken behind the woodshed in OOC. Because of that, the Ducks aren't finished just yet.

It's still a tough conference though, especially top to bottom. Always has been. And let's not forget that Texas has sucked a fat one for about the last eight or nine years in a row which is crazy if you think about it. It's been a complete embarrassment.

It's been eight long years since SC has won the conference. If they don't win it this year it will be the longest they've ever gone without winning the PAC. That's a trip too. They really need to get off the snide this coming season.

Just look at their run from 2008 - 2015 alone. The multiple national championship game appearances, multiple PAC 12 titles, multiple Rose Bowls and Fiesta Bowls, etc. Basically ranking in the top 5 or at least 10 pretty much every year for eight years straight. They get hated on, their success gets downplayed. People want to act like making a run like that is easy to do. Bullshit. It's not easy to do. So, Are you trying to say getting a top recruiting class has no relation to the product that appears on the field? If you are you've clearly been doing far too many mind altering drugs. Doing what Oregon did with what they had was a damned feat, hate all you want but they did more than most with less "talent" on the field. Most seem to forget that many of the good players that came out of that program over the years started as 3 stars that would've been back ups for their entire career at the blue blood schools. And you can shove off with your whole "acting Elite" bullshit. Yes, there were some enthusiastic idiots and bandwagon fans, but guess what every team has them.
