I read this and what strikes me is this is his first 11 on 11 practice. I would expect him to struggle now. It is good that his "weaknesses" be exposed early. This is not even preseason......

I think Garoppolo will be fine.

He has one of the best slot receivers in the game in Edelman, the best TE and arguably receiver in general as well in Gronk, and those guys thrive over the middle in the short to intermediate range, which happens to be where Garoppolo succeeds is as a quick-rhythm passer.

Do I think if Garoppolo were to play all 16 games we'd go better than 8-8 or so? Definitely not. But we'll be fine for however long we're without Brady. We're no long SB contenders without Brady, but 2-2 is certainly more than possible as long as Garoppolo doesn't try to carry the load by himself, which luckily he won't have to.
